  • Yeah, but dem sweet RAM discounts doh. Just kidding. We'll all be too broke then! Buah ha ha.

  • Those redactions would happen even if society gave victims a billion dollars of restitution.

  • Obviously that is the correct step in the interim. But how do we prevent this repeating over and over?

  • Holy shit, that's a thing you can do? Like a sed type function works in Notepad++?

  • Agreed. If you're not moving hundreds of thousands if units, there probably is no return in investment. Those things have expensive up front costs.

  • Bastards, all if them.

  • I think it's way more sinister. If people don't waste time on stupid shit like commutes, pressing and starching business attire, wasting social energy on superficial coworker interractions, and needlessly spending money on lunchflation and work clothes, then everyone has more time/money to be a healthy human being with more time for self-actualization and community-building. Such people tend to attempt to facilitate a healthy society, and that misaligned with the goals of the exploitative wealthy class.

  • Commercial providers for space programs cost more money than if NASA just hired civil servants to do a lot of the work. Big corps just take longer, then don't want to share development info that taxpayers funded, making integration into other elements a huge safety problem that can't be fully resolved due to the protection of the provider's intellectual property.

Then they get shit workers that put up with job instability caused by a fickle Congress. This has gotten progressively worse for decades, and now NASA is reduced to a corporate subsidy program for parasitic billionaires and huge companies that don't deliver well. Nothing like someone asking me if a design will function properly with another, and me basically saying I have no fucking clue because everything is a goddamn secret.

NASA's commercial provider obsession was bought by lobbyists, and it's a fucking terrible idea. I'll die on that hill.

  • It's time we realize as a species that this world is ran by pure evil. We need to begin responding differently. I don't know what that means, but even after a revolution there are still charismatic psychos that come along and fuck shit up again. People are just too dumb and fall for it over and over and over. How many times does this process need to be repeated before we evolve as a species?

  • Yeah, me too. I've already been wanting to make refrigerators. How hard can it be? I assume shitty regulations are the biggest holdup.

  • No, but you can not shop your way out of it. Fuck it. Who needs a TV anyways?

  • I always wonder how much my PS5 is spying on me.

  • Stoves, washers, dryers, and ovens with knobs too please!

  • Widespread user backlash? Those of us who value privacy probably stopped watching streamed services anyway. The user base that cares is probably 1%. Nobody I know cares about privacy enough to implement countermeasures.

  • The gov takes what you make and distributes it to billionaires through subsidies while you pay $500 for insurance and still have huge medical bills. Then they give it to Israel, who has free education and health care while we all have crippling debts for the same. It's socialism for the rich, and capitalism only for us. People are not lazy losers by default. You'd be surprised how people grow with time and money for self actualization.

  • Yeah I can't watch my favorite childhood movies without cringing because I know those Hollywood creeps molested the young actors. I still watch them though. I figure their work shouldn't be minimized just because other people suck.

  • That is literally what made me vote. But they all suck for sure, other than a few.

  • Back then there wasn't just three rich tech bro losers that owned the means of all the labor.

  • At this point there is no hope of us being well off enough to excessively consume, save, invest, and definitely not to grow money. The rich folks want a huge chunk of the population dead. Our future is slavery unless we overcome this, and most people I know are extremely unaware of the issues.
