  • Oh my god, Karen, you can't just ask someone why they're bald!

  • 🎶 Neelix is not a creative character 🎵

  • The first few seasons of TOS were gold, though.

  • It's the episodes where the crew comes across a planet with a naturally occurring stimulant and develops a new form of space crack. There was a lot of that in the delta quadrant, for some reason.

  • Unless, are we considering the Ori (+Ancients = Alterans) to be closer to a literal form of god?

Sure, the Ori are closer to gods than the Goa'uld because they actually have abilities that are effectively supernatural to our perspective. Whereas the Goa'uld just rely on stolen technology to do everything that appears supernatural. But the show made sure we understood that fancy abilities like that of the Ori still does not make one a god. They just know more about the secrets of the universe than we do.

We might need to nail down a definition on this first.

You are right, they did cover how the definition of a "god" is a little fuzzy. But regardless of what you define as a "god", what the Ori were demanding was wrong, and they should be resisted.

DANIEL: I think maybe I know what the Ori are -- who they are. And I'm not denying they are very powerful beings, but if I'm right, they're not gods. They're like the ascended beings I know: they simply have a greater understanding of the knowledge of the universe.DOCI: What is a god, but a being that is worshipped by those beneath? Is great knowledge, power, understanding not enough for you to revere the Ori?DANIEL: Respect, yes, certainly. But that doesn't mean I would murder innocent people in their name.

  • Usher - "There Goes My Baby"

The chorus to that song is

There goes my baby(Ooh, girl, look at you)You don't know how good it feels to call you my girlThere goes my babyLoving everything you doOoh, girl, look at you

So I think the joke in that GIF is basically supposed to just be "he really loves that meat".

Not sure why GIF sites seem to claim that GIF is that song, because after actually watching that music video, it is clearly not. After some more research, I have concluded it was actually from Usher - "Confessions Part II".

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Sy19X0xxrM

The relevant lyrics from the bit in that GIF:

I'm riding in my whip, racin' to her placeTalking to myself, preparin' to tell her to her faceShe open up the door and didn't wanna come near meI said, "One second, baby, please hear me"

So, it seems more like an "I love you but you don't love me back" situation or something.

  • I think I get the Sopranos part of this joke, but is that over a particular music video or something? Is that relevant to the joke?

  • What's a babby goold? Is that from Starship Troopers?

  • I'm a fake fan.

  • It's not actually Star Wars! That person is Klingon, which is a character from Babylon 5. Common mistake.

  • Fine!
