Edit: I also want to clarify, I'm not against change or drugs or bodymods, by any means, and I do think the drug idea is actually really cool. If they want to save it, maybe have both: have the majority of people be animal people, they've just gone into hiding, but then there is also a technology in the world that's capable of turning people into animal people and animal people into human people. Like the reason we haven't been seeing animal people is because they've been transformed/hiding/playing as humans.

Krillin is a chestnut monk iirc. Kuririn クリリン is his actual name.
Like most characters in the series, the name Krillin is a pun. In his case, its Japanese source, Kuririn, is made up of two parts. The first two syllables come from 栗 (kuri), which means "chestnut" in reference to his shaved head (the "chestnut" pun is also carried over to his daughter Marron). The second part of his name comes from 少林 (Shōrin; "Shaolin" in Chinese), as his early character designs were closely modeled on.

Which makes me wonder if that isn't his real name, and maybe a nickname given to him by other characters in the show, like from before he first meets Goku in Dragonball. Because other characters have the food or underwear themes of names, yet Krillin's name is fully just making fun of how he looks.
I'm gonna be honest, I think that's super lame. Not because it's drugs, but because it's a cheap way to explain not having animal people rather than just admit you don't want to draw them anymore. It makes the world more boring.
Nah, I think the gist of it is more like there's a philosophy out there that has low empathy and pushes low comprehension victim-blaming type of logic, and encourages harassment and starting shit that actively makes the world worse for all kinds of people, but mostly punching down in insidious ways to make people disenfranchise themselves and others in order to justify their own being pieces of shit or something.

Another interesting aside, is that 4Kids also notoriously and routinely butchered anime, famously, One Piece. So that they somehow turned out the Pokemon theme makes no sense, but that they did it by what seems like basically pure luck and taking advantage of artists, makes a lot of sense.
Chronological order is for superfans who have already seen it all, probably multiple times. Always watch release order for authenticity, even for remakes. Because no matter what people say, newer stuff is still based on older stuff and fan service and homages and neat little details are lost without context.
Sw ep4 is not really ep4, it's the first and original, and skipping ahead in the story by over 20 years is weird and wouldn't make any sense. What is this shiny thing people keep waving around? How does any of this work? What is a jed eye? Is that a MONSTER? What is that little green footsniffer creepy puppet thing? It's HOW OLD?!
And especially for ep1, you might think these two random broody guys are bad guys, even after you get told their names.
There's a huge art to telling a story to people that already know the outcome, and it's very different from telling a story to people who DON'T know the outcome. Who is this kid and why does the story revolve around him? Does he actually become somebody? Why is everybody older than me viewing it with dread and love at the same time?
It might take a dip, but if people responded very positively, maybe Apple could benefit from taking some risk on morally good things. Imagine if stockholders saw that. Apple stock would explode.
