    No, people have generally always known how to find clean drinking water and understood its importance. Beer and wine got made because they were delicious, nutritious, and got ya drunk.

    Sounds like someone who misheard a different fact. Which is why sailors drink low proof alcohol on long voyages. Because they couldn't safely store water for such a long time. Water turns green and becomes undrinkable if you store it in a barrel. It's one of the things that helped unlock ocean travel in the 1400's.

    Alcohol occurs naturally in nature. It did not need 'inventing.'

  • Temple of Doom/Indiana Jones is sorta loosely based on the TinTin comics, which Spielberg later made a movie of also. The whole thing seemingly takes place in the 1920's when those comics did, and that depiction of India is right in line with the 1920's and how it would have been depicted then.

  • The joke isn't so much that 'trans is gross' but that he thought he was kissing a girl but kissed a man instead? And then he completely overreacted. Used a plunger on his face, which is obviously grosser than kissing a man. That's the joke.

    If you were offended by Ross making up a rumor about Rachel, then wow I can't imagine how you'd feel about Archie Bunker. Or Eric Cartman. Or literally any comedy ever?

  • The Jesse Owens Story (1984). Really good made for TV biopic. Won a primetime emmy. But has barely 300 total ratings on IMDB and so few on Letterboxd that it doesn't have an average score. Several cast members from the Roots miniseries.

    Meet the Raisins (1988). The original 30 minute made for TV claymation special. Here on YouTube (lots of music missing) It was a spinoff of a highly successful marketing campaign (a 30 second commercial where raisins sing 'heard it through the grapevine').
