There is no point in protesting a data center if you continue to use AI. Wake up.

  • Canadian here.

All my prescriptions are paid out of pocket but it's not very expensive. 4 different pills is around $300 to $400 a year.

All tests and lab work are zero cost as is doctor visits.

Here in Nova Scotia, we have a doctor shortage so Registered Nurses were assigned their own clinics. Imho, my nurse is giving me better care than any doctor I've been to. They take the time to listen and are very knowledgeable. Doctors just want you in and out so they can see any many patients as possible in one day (it's how they make money in a private practice).

Wait times at the ER takes longer than it did pre-covid. I had an issue years ago. All the walkins (I didn't have a GP at the time) were full so I went to the ER Saturday morning. I was back home within 4 hours and that was after waiting at a pharmacy to get the prescription filled.

Two years ago, same issue came back. My nurse told me I had to go to the ER. After 4.5 hours I went home without seeing anyone. There was a total of 6 people in the ER's waiting area. Two days later someone from the hospital called and asked me why I left.

Today, we can go to a pharmacy and be treated for a number of conditions without taking up resources at the ER.

  • That knot comes in handy so often.

Years ago, my clothesline came apart (it had pinch clamps that failed to grab the line tight enough) and I used a Trucker's Hitch along with Prusik knots to pull the clothesline close enough together to reattach it.

I now only buy clotheslines that come with the mini winch.

  • New on subscribed. Once in a while I'll have a look at All, also sorted by new.

  • Yes. I'm not telling if its good or not.😁

  • Sometimes. A sometimes my family wants fish n chips. I'll make a clubhouse.

  • I used to ride a bike all winter. Knees are getting old so I stopped. Just a matter of dressing for the conditions.

  • Having a good meal.

  • If this comes to Canada I'll be driving an electric scooter or bike.

  • The day my manager, who stinks of perfume, decided to work with me to "help" is the day I put in my notice.

For context, I had been complaining about employees stinking of perfume, the employer has a scent-free rule, many people ignore the rule because it's not enforced.

  • It amazes me when people advocate for their replacement. Every single person in all industries should be saying "fuck ai"

  • At first, I thought this about going to the gym.

  • I shutdown my phone each morning (best way to remove malware or viruses). This is when I clean it with an alcohol wipe, including the camera lens. Once in a while I take it out of its case to clean out the dirt.

  • Shopping carts are my issue.

  • I don't feel my phone time is any worse than my laptop time. Maybe because I keep notifications off except for email and Signal on my phone so it's not asking for my attention all the time.

  • A converted/camper van, sure. A passenger car, WTF.
