Hello thanks for visiting my profile.

For any picture posts I make with the [OC] tag, I provide a license for you to use my photo under the terms of CC-BY-SA-4.0. You may DM me for questions.

  • GOP is going to put their big government taxes on you Texans, Oklahomans and true freedom lovers. Then they'll give big handouts to oil companies, letting them freeload on the infrastructure you paid to help develop (roads, water, certification, etc.). Is that what you want, Republican voters?

  • You're probably not the only one.

However, the interest (on Lemmy-aligned circles at least) in self-hosting, reducing depedence on large tech companies, community building on smaller scale online and offline, has me excited again that the smaller counterculture can co-exist with the mainstream profit-motivated social media culture.

  • First off, as a pizza expert, I will say that the best way to keep your toppings from sliding off your pizza is to use a stapler.

Well, anything you post online could be scraped by AI. This is an open public-facing forum so there's no real expectation of privacy (even DMs). And personally I'd rather have everyone who wanted to see what I have to say be able to see it, instead of some for-profit entity deciding who can see it or if they want to package up the whole dataset to sell to an AI company.

Crafty admins check their server traffic every now and then for unusual bandwidth spikes from scraping activity and can ban certain address spaces or client types. But those are more band-aid solutions that will only deal with performance hits, it can't prevent archiving nor AI model-ingesting to begin with.

  • Right well the fellow on Reddit got kicked out of their account by Microsoft.

  • Forced bitlocker encryption without keeping the keys in a separate area accessible to you, is just adding ransomware to your own device.

  • Oooh cool! I'll be watching for the release of this software with great interest!

  • Fucking what kind of line of questioning is it when cops are resteaining you or holding you on the ground or against a fence...

People can't name a woman under pressure.

  • Many songs if I like enough I figure out some of the words when looking for the title. Otherwise I remember them then forget them for a while. A couple famous examples I like:

Dschinghis Khan - Moskau, it's a bop, i know the melody but lyrics I only know parts of.

O-Zone - Dragostea Din Tea - this one of course I know front to back but I don't know what a single word means.

  • Ok courts, time to do your job, put this guy in check. This "official act" is unconstitutional and illegal, come on, do something.

  • I totally understand that overreach makes hunting and recreational shooting activities a lot more difficult.

On the flipside, it means that assembly in Canada is peaceful by default without the constant threat of escalation into gun violence as can happen in the USA. It means that in our cities, 19 times out of 20 we only have to worry about pointy objects being potentially used as weapons by people walking down the street rather than guns.

The styling of firearms is just for show over safety I agree. But maintaining a culture of responsibly using firearms as a privilege of partaking in the sport, rather than as a right, is a distinction that gives us Canadians a better quality-of-life overall. There's far fewer grey areas in Canada as to where and what guns should be legally used for.

  • Honestly inviting anyone over is motivation for me to clean. In my own space, there's stuff everywhere, but when someone's coming my standards for personal cleanliness and organization shoot up dramatically.

  • Might be the time for Minnesota to join Canada, Tim. Think big.

If you want to end politically-motivated gun violence becoming normalized, time to leave the USA and ban guns not used for hunting or within shooting ranges.

  • Obviously, yes. Those topics were touched on at the local rally.

  • Yeah, with the official act things clearly the Roberts Supreme Court wants their finger on everything unconstitutional the Trump administration does.

  • I'll be out there today in solidarity with your democracy. The people are the last bastion of resistance to fascism.

  • (The answer is it just broke and there are a lot of newsworthy things happening today)

It was an almost inevitable succession to robbers cosplaying as ICE. If one is deemed normal, then extrajudicial killings where in the moment you believe it's illegal to defend yourself will be normalized too. If this is allowed to stand, or your president would pardon this kind of violence, your country is lost.

  • The name on the court document was wrong. Only a US citizen and her kids were present when Noem and ICE arrived, so all they did was search the house, turn around the doorbell camera, bring them all out, and harass them while brandishing their firearms. Great job...
