    But since even on normal speed trains it takes less than 9.5h from Nihonbashi to 3jo-Ohashi, only the most dedicated cross country hikers would be interested, or perhaps a group would for an annual or once every few years event.

  • Generally, if I know there is a common loan word, then I say it in the language I am speaking (burrito is close enough for example), otherwise I try to say it in the native language and native intonation (quesadilla = kesadi-ya). I generally try to see what will be the most understanding.

    With people's names I will try to default to their native version, but once I know them for a while I'll get if they seem to prefer the English or imported version. I'll start with O-ka-mu-ra for example with proper Japanese intonation and cadence, but if they like the bouncy American style of pronunciation Oke-a-moo-rah better then I'll use that. A 2nd generation Japanese-American for instance might be more familiar with the latter. Conversely, a name like George/Jorge, I'll say George in other languages but if they like Joーji (Japanese) or Hor-hey (Spanish) better I'll move to that regardless of what language I'm speaking.

  • I wouldn't bother. If I really had to ask a bot, Wolfram Alpha is there as long as I can ask it without an AI meddling with my question.

    E: To clarify, just because one AI or six will get the same answer that I can independently verify as correct for a simpler question, does not mean I can trust it for any arbitrary math question even if however many AIs arrive at the same answer. There's often the possibility the AI will stumble upon a logical flaw, exemplified by the "number of rs in strawberry" example.

The exact dates, locations or details of audit results are not publicly provided in this report, but the important thing is that it is being audited, counted and brought to light at least internally, and any concerns from any report may be investigated by the Public Safety Minister.

  • I have a particular gripe against lane keep assist. When it was active on cars I've rented... on the mountain passes just outside of the Vancouver Area, it went off way too often, since the lines would get blurry, or you have to stay clear of oncoming trucks around a curve meaning you have to go to the shoulder a bit. Also giving space when passing bicycle riders on the shoulder you (after checking of course), move to the centre just a tad.

    Making these features more annoying would lead to alarm fatigue more than better behaviour.
