Sickle cell anemia is kinda like that. Carriers with one copy of the gene get resistance to malaria compared to those without it. People with two copies get the disease and are more vulnerable to Malaria than those without a copy.

If we got to the point where the runaway effect was unavoidable, it might be possible to use this before civilization starts to collapse. It would probably have a lot of nasty side effects, but it might be able to buy enough time for CO2 levels to come back down. At least civilization could survive in some form.
That's probably what makes him such a great advertisement for the Republican party. It's like saying, "This is how much you can get away with if you elect us." Of course, that only applies to the very wealthy. Sometimes I think that's were the surprised look comes from in the mugshots of working class Republican voters when they go down for stuff they've been watching others do for decades.

It's not terrible. They have a huge supply of weights, albeit not much variety in size. Management gets a bit fighty if you don't put them back, though.
