  • Why aren’t they paying for their own power?

  • Dirt is not fiber.

  • I had one of my kid’s Butterfinger bars from their Halloween stash last Fall. It was awful. I remember that chocolate-crispy-peanut brittle flavor being so much better. Instead it was waxy sugar.

  • That would be fun if you could try the actual food for real again and see if it was decent or just kid rose-colored glasses thinking it was awesome.

  • Thanks for the pointers. I knew some of those, but the “super premium” is helpful.

Edit: just went to the store. No “super premium” available. :(

  • Hard and sometimes pithy on the inside.

    Agreed.

  • Yep. They’re generically hard and sweet. They’ve lost their distinct flavor. They’re not bad, but they’re not great, either.

We live in an area where there are a lot of different kinds of farms. When fruit is in season, even grapes, they’re incredible. They taste “real”. I miss how fruit used to be good and not bred to maintain looks and survive shipping.

  • Enjoy being blocked. Useless.

  • Drop the "Genocide Harris" crap. Completely irrelevant to the discussion and deliberately insulting. The alternative was trump and look how much good that did, arguably orders of magnitude worse. Don't be stupid.

    E: Childish response. Blocked.

  • You said it yourself, they aren't going away. The only way to have a semblance of a fix for this situation is to repair all the things the parasite class broke, and that's education, financial security (jobs, wages, and things like single-payer healthcare), and time. That will stop most of the overt destructive hatred from the Right.

This is like the old racists from the South. They won't go away. They exist. They refuse to change unless they're forced to by a family member marrying a minority or something equally life-event changing, and even then it's iffy. What improves things is the next generation to having it better. They get exposed to different people an have a better education, they get the stability and have less opportunity to jump on the racist bogeyman-wagon.

We're not going to fix the current generation. They're broken.

Unfortunately it's going to be hard to fix anything at all with the Dems being witting failures, the Republicans dismantling everything and instituting fascism, and the geopolitics and economics shifting away from the US leaving us in worse condition to build things right.

  • That looks pretty good.

  • When/where was this available? I don’t recall seeing it.

  • Ah, the irony of viral social media outrage at someone attempting to generate viral social media engagement.

  • Citrus gatorade. Haven’t seen that in years. Used to mix that with Squirt (grapefruit soda) and it was great on a hot day if you were working hard and sweating.

  • IMO ice cream in general has really gone downhill. The flavors are all worse and more artificial, the ice cream is lucky to have any real “ice cream” in it anymore, and it’s all areated or “fluffed” with air to reduce the actual amount in the carton.

We kinda laughed at some ice cream one of our kids had left partly unfinished and it melted. Well, sorta. The liquid (whatever it was) drained out of the remaining ice cream and we were left with this lump of rubbery foam sitting in a pool of whatever.

Probably one of the last decent ice creams that can be bought in a normal (not tiny Ben and Jerry’s or other botique priced grocery store ice creams) container is Costco’s Kirkland brand Vanilla.

  • Even that appears to have a higher moisture content than what I recall. It does look good, though.

    This is closer: https://www.oldworldjerky.com/our-jerky/

Except they say “crispy”. The stuff I recall could be crispy, but it was also more fibrous and could be chewy. Just not very uniform the way these brands strive to be.

  • Haven’t found it. Guess I haven’t visited the right truck stop convenience store.

  • All these dictators and authoritarians want to die on the throne.

  • “Three time trump voter”

    Shoulda just stopped right there.

    Three. Times.

History was always there, ready to be picked up and used as a mirror. Trump has always been who he was. Cruelty, nationalism, and prejudice haven’t changed definitions. There were no secrets.

These douchenozzles are all the same. They were perfectly happy to let trump F everything up as long as it was everyone else getting F’d. As soon as it inconveniences them, they suddenly find some kind of righteous morality.
