    Flashlights. You mean you carry a lighting device that does nothing else, when your phone can do that plus a million other things?

    Keys. We'll likely carry a fob for most things. They'll be programmable to allow us to adapt to our locks, like a universal TV remote.

    Fax machines in government. Someone in government will finally realize scan to email is so much cleaner.

  • Someone with your last name commits a heinous crime and their name becomes infamous, would you change that name? Why or Why not?

  • I guess it depends how common your last name is where you live. If you're a Smith/Johnson/Brown/Williams in the USA, those are pretty common. If you've got one of those names in China, maybe a name change is in order.

    If your last name is Summerbell, that's a bit rare, and maybe you need to distance yourself.

  • What do you think the future of Windows is?

  • I think they're going to need to back pedal some ideas. Ideas that are "for your benefit" such as, your user folder linked to one drive (so you'll always have a backup) is also a cash-grab ("oh, you only have 5 GB of space. We'll sell you more!"). This needs to be opt-in.

    Windows 7's market share has surprisingly increased to about 9.61% in 2025. This rise is likely due to users hesitating to upgrade to Windows 11 as support for Windows 10 is ending.

    You can say that's only 10%, but how much is that in lost revenue?

  • Other platforms are still hosting such videos. Vimeo, daily motion, dtube, odysee, plus just a search on a search engine pull up videos or other tutorials. While pulling it off of YouTube may make Microsoft sigh a breath of relief, the truth is out there.

  • You want to work remotely in tech. I would look at places such as https://www.indeed.com/q-Remote-Tech-jobs.html?vjk=7909b7463088bb3a

    Look at which certs they want and how much experience they want. Look at the salary. Look at the quality of life (are you on call 24/7?).

    You may find that remote cybersecurity jobs are not plentiful. I searched "cyber security entry level" and Remote and found 2. I removed remote and found 300+ jobs.

    1 has flexible hours and wants (likely requires) experience in Version control as well as Sec+

    The other is full time, and wants a valid SSCP certification*, a bachelor's degree, and experience in operating systems.

    The future is always changing what people do. In 1100 AD blacksmithing was a reliable career, and it remained that way into the 1800s. The 20th century kind of messed that career path down to a niche group. Blue collar work (be it construction, plumbing, etc.) so far has been pretty reliable.
