  • But why force adoption? If it's really good people would adopt it naturally like we do with every other tool. Why for this really expensive one, do we now flip the whole system on its head?

  • If you are trying to keep something cool why would you put it in Arizona

  • There is a complex system of tubes

  • Don't you see? This is what we needed, a way for AI to fuck over fish too.

  • At my company they came up with a great plan. Count our pr merges lol.

It's been going on a few weeks and they are just realizing that we have a ton of prs but still haven't shipped a ton of features lol.

They have played their hand and shown they have no idea what they are doing.

  • It's more about the money than the technology.

  • Also she's like a bazillion years old. Who the fuck even is she?!?

  • It's pretty impressive that they managed to trick a whole field of the smartest people into doing it too. What kind of crazy con artist thought this up? Lol

  • I feel like in the age of the Internet people should just publish their own stuff. The problem then is being able to find it though. I think a site for only research papers where you can vote links to them up or down and submit peer reviews would be awesome. I'm looking in from the outside though so maybe that already exists?

  • One thing to note is Facebook bought a ton of other companies. So some of those people didn't choose to work there at all they just stayed because they needed to keep their job. Some may even be trapped by circumstances like visas or medical needs. Companies don't only screw over their users. They buy people and screw them too.

  • That's why these conversations happen in person on a golf course and not online in slack or email

  • Ok but all those people found new jobs by now and the damage is irreversible. They need to punish the people who did it in an irreversible way too

  • Yeah it cures everything! Also it's fun at parties

  • They probably would do those things if they could afford to live comfortably and had a little extra disposable income but in today's world every time you turn around someone is screwing you out of money. There isn't anything left for fun stuff. Especially when the fun stuff company is doing some of the screwing lol

  • I didn't say communism solves anything. But we have enough resources and technology now that we can provide for everyone without everyone having to work. If only like a quarter of the people got all the "work" done the rest of the people could be old or care for them.

A lot of the "work" that people do today are just jobs programs to keep the system moving. Think of people working at insurance companies or car dealers. Pointless middle men that could be free if they weren't in this system.

  • Yes but again those are only issues because of capitalism. What if we tried something else? If the system doesn't work anymore why not change it instead of trying to make more babies to fix the issue? Why is the only option more babies? It's not the only thing we can do

  • Other than capitalism, why? We have enough resources to support everyone if we want to. People are still having kids just not as many. Why do we need so many people? What if the population drops to a more sustainable number?

  • Trump was good for the economy.

During the election this kept being repeated even though the economy collapsed because of his covid response
