  • Don't forget the shire.

  • Eugh. Raw face is just gross.

  • I always round up the price when I see $X.99 but my grandmother always rounds it down and it pisses me off

They're trying to fool you! Don't be a sheep!!!

  • There's also the problem that if the polls are crap, the results of the model will also be crap, regardless of how accurate the model is. It's similar to how publication bias affects meta-analyses. Several analysts have already argued that pollsters are unlikely to underestimate Trump again, and may in fact over-correct and underestimate Harris much like how they underestimated dems in 2022:

  • Trump has been sabotaging peace talks

    This is pure horseshit.

It’s the Palestinian American’s fault for not endorsing the genocide of their immediate friends and family.

Voting isn't a love letter, it's a chess move. Biden, Harris and other establishment liberals absolutely deserve to be relentlessly mocked and criticized (and frankly indicted) for cheerleading Israel's genocide, but aiding in the political victory of someone twice as genocidal as them, and who also intends to end democracy and target his political opponents would be a bad move.

  • Simply build a Paperwork Organiz-inator

  • I would like to propose some changes to that title:

Microsoft CEO's pay rises 63% to $79m, despite [because of] devastating year for layoffs: 2550 jobs lost [employees were fired by their greedy CEO] in 2024 [because he wanted more money]

  • Something tells me that Tim "the problem is everybody else" Pool might have a hard time finding a woman willing to put up with his narcissistic and toxic personality...

  • Conservatives have already said that they want to inspect children's genitals, so it's only a matter of time until they start saying that they want to regularly inspect women's genitals as well to "protect unborn children" (read: control women and fulfill their sick fetish)

  • Recently I've actually been wondering how the hell researchers manage their citations for big projects, because a while back I started doing some research on the Cass Review, tripped on my own dick and accidentally ended up with 70-something disorganized citations (that I actually used) that were a pain in the ass to clean up.

I'm definitely checking out those first three software lol

  • Did the xLSTM end up going nowhere? I thought it looked pretty sexy.

  • She predicts the next token.

  • Well he is the oldest presidential candidate...

  • Maybe this will come off as armchair psychology, but I really believe that part of what motivates conservative, and especially far-right sentiment in men is just sexual frustration.

We've seen so many instances of Nazis being outed as gay or as chasers, so many incels who blame women for all the ills of the world, and so many guys who have a "blacked" or "white extinction" fetish are staunchly racist.

We can respond in a number of ways to rejection, or any other negative experience for that matter, and some people respond with aggression.

Women don't find me attractive? Well it must be either their or society's fault. Or maybe the blacks are at fault for taking all the white women.

I can't be gay in my religion or conservative social circle? Well the gays must be sinful groomers then, and should be second class citizens or outright eradicated.

Once again this is probably just armchair psychology on my part, but this may be part of why we're seeing conservatism increase among young men as younger generations are having less sex.

  • I remember when scientists were more focused on making AI models smaller and more efficient, and research on generative models was focused on making GANs as robust as possible with very little compute and data.

Now that big companies and rich investors saw the potential for profit in AI the paradigm has shifted to "throw more compute at the wall until something sticks", so it's not surprising it's affecting carbon emissions.

Besides that it's also annoying that most of the time they keep their AIs behind closed doors, and even in the few cases where the weights are released publicly these models are so big that they aren't usable for the vast majority of people, as sometimes even Kaggle can't handle them.
