  • This sentence doesn't make sense either:

With Baudot code machines could be built that would automatically decode the signal...

It starts off sounding like you're going to say, "With Baudot code machines [you can do anything, or whatever]" but then you say "could".

Is there supposed to be a comma after Baudot?

"With Baudot, code machines could be built..."

Even then, it doesn't make sense to say "With Baudot" by itself because that means with the man himself instead of with his system. So, do you mean, "With Baudot's encoding system, code machines could be built..."? That would make sense.

On the one the hand, if the name of Baudot's encoding system itself is "Baudot", then you need to establish that before you use it in that way because the rest of the text is talking about the man when using his name.

  • I read your title as, "Help, my name cat", and I thought that was a weird name for a cat.

  • Something something xkcd.

  • Have you ever cared for such a tiny kitten before? You have to do things like wipe their butt with a warm washcloth to get them to poop. Stuff like that. Make sure you read some guides if this is your first time.

  • Aww, poor V. I'm so sorry. 😢

  • The front-end is called Piper, so I would install that, and it comes with the required library and the daemon. Piper is OK, but the CLI is sometimes better. The UI doesn't default to your active profile, and I always have to change it to do anything, even though it's my only profile.

The only thing ratbagd couldn't do is set a button to be a pure modifier key like Ctrl or Shift. I had to boot up Windows to do that. The macro that the Logitech software creates in order to have the mouse send a pure modifier key is weird. It's a three step macro instead of just the key, and ratbagd doesn't even display it correctly. It might be fixed in the future. Who knows.

  • Is the issue specific to the X Lightspeed? I have a G502 Hero and I can program most things I want using the ratbagd CLI tool.

  • Fun fact: your "fun fact" is a myth. Artificial banana flavor is not "based off Gros Michael". The flavoring is not some sort of recipe that was based off of anything. It's a single chemical found in all bananas. It's a coincidence that Gros Michael tastes more like fake banana flavoring than other bananas, but all bananas contain that same ester: isoamyl acetate. It's just that Gros Michael has more of it.

However, if you dig in to this tale a little it soon becomes clear that there is little or no verifiable source that artificial banana is based on Gros Michel. “It sounds very, very unlikely to me,” says synthetic organic chemist Derek Lowe.

So please stop repeating this myth.

In addition, you're completely wrong about artificial vanilla flavor. It is the exact ester found in real vanilla, and it is by far the most dominant flavor in real vanilla. It tastes exactly like vanilla minus a few extra subtle notes.

  • Only 100? That's like 20 ISOs.

  • "Into the breach!"

  • God that article is annoying to read.

  • I just watched that movie.

  • Those things don't apply to most crimes. The whole "pressing charges" thing is a trope or meme, except for a few specific cases like minor assault, minor property damage, defamation, certain sexual offenses (varies greatly between municipalities), etc. The vast majority of crime is prosecuted by the state without needing the victim's consent.

  • You do all of that with a keyboard, too! You stop and think. You erase and try again. You never actually sustain your 80 WMP peak (or whatever),

When it comes time to knowing what they're going to say, however long that takes, the average person can speak much faster than they can type.

You're way overthinking it, and also wrong. Read the research. If you are some super-human typer, good for you! I specifically said "average person".

    Cope harder. slow-mo.

    Please explain.

  • Look at all you non-lonely people with friends & family. Stop lonliness shaming.

  • Wait, you wait for individual responses? You're supposed to be giving Claude 15 simultaneous tasks where you dictate one per minute, and loop around when you're done to review the first task's output. What kind of vibe coder gives only one task at a time and then jerks around for 15 minutes? You're fired!
