    If there were 25 golf courses per US state, we would have 1250 golf courses - or less than 10% of the number we currently have.

  • Luckily the actual physical pain isn't heightened, since my only pain meds are OTC. Mostly I'm dreading the possibility of a depressive episode before I can get back on my antidepressants, and the disrupted sleep, irritability (as if I don't have enough of THAT even when medicated), and lack of executive function from my lack of ADHD meds is... tedious.

  • All sorts of dogs out there, and the eager greeter is only one kind. A friend of mine had a little dog who was terrified of me (I have that effect on some dogs, strangely). I spent months trying to get the little pup to acclimate to me. I laid flat on the floor, not approaching them, offered treats, gentle pets, slowly getting to the point where he wouldn't recoil in horror and flee at my simple presence.

    First time that sweet pupper upper trotted up and greeted me on the lawn I was beside myself with joy. And we were besties from then on.

Albeit at reduced cost, considering the widespread use of corvee and legal limits on the ability of worker's to negotiate contracts with the agents of the Pharaoh compared to with non-government notables.
