  • Controversal because most of the people I've brought it up to in the midwest still warn you not to drink the water and see it as the dusty brown cowboy land where drug cartels wheel around shooting at white people.

  • I feel like this would be a misleading measure. My dad has been self medicating anxiety, adhd, trauma, and potentially autism with pot for about 40 years, in our state an oz is 6 months on first offence. If we only count that on his usual consumption rate, baring any time he's got extra, tried other things, or the myriad of other dubious things he's gotten into, he's lookimg at 1,440 years in jail. If you add anything about quality, growing, having large amounts, that's going to skyrocket. In comparison, a double homicide nets you 100 points in this hypothetical.

Put my stoner dad next to a serial pedophile with 10 victims below the age of 12 and my dad looks like a fucking monster.

  • If I had to limit it to physically, I'd say the motherboard. It's the only thing in the box that everything has to be compatible with. Everything else is the extension.

Personally, I believe in a machine spirit. It's a nebulous concept and it muddies the water here, but really the object is new when it no longer feels like the old. If I install a new is some day and my fans don't breathe the same, my lights don't blink like they did, or the chirp of my drives sounds alien, then I know I've lost the ghost and will have to learn a whole personality. Same is true for all my objects.

  • I have the hdd bay plate off a laptop with a broken screen that I bought off a friend about 15 years ago. Every time I've needed to spin up a windows I put the code for that machine in and promise I'm upgrading to the current OS from an early win7 release. Works every time.

At some point I ought to cut it down and decorate it as some modern magical charm.

  • Bit controversial to say, but Mexico isn't all that bad. It's cheap, it has all the amenities of the US until you get well into the boonies, and they're currently implementing free healthcare. From what real news I can get from outside the fascist echo chamber, Sheinbaum is like a national level Mamdani when it comes to progressive successes. With the US too stupid to do the usual cripple job, Mexico has a genuine chance to join the adult table in the next decade or so.

  • My current jam has been heritage carrots from Costco. I just cold pickled them after a wash and peal with basically all the spices I could justify and the result is a crunch, tangy, sweet that's just too fun.

Also, bread and butter style jalapeno is like spicy candy!

  • Most ghost stories I've read have been about haunted places and haunted things

  • I actually love this idea as the big boss for a paranormal investigation table top. Have the villain of the story build a haunted mansion out if stollen ghosts.

  • Hey if you don't get it sorted, hit me up, I'm in the Chicago timezone and I can give you my docker file and walk you through how I did exactly the same thing you're looking for.

  • Those were actually pretty fun.

  • CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP!

Seriously though, I will pickle literally anything that doesn't get eaten in my house.

  • I have plans for a piece on my fore arm of a stylized 3 headed rat. There will be a fancy crown hovering over the arch of its back in blacklight ink so in the right setting it glows.

The Ratking is my favorite mythological creature, in myth they keep and deal in secrets as their rats work as spies. My favorite part though, is that the mythical Ratking is created the same way as the normal one, rats getting stuck together. It's that mythical from the mundane that I love so much.

  • Oh easily. Hell, they could even use their scrapping methods to support law enforcement as clearly they can find a lot of material. Unfortunately, law enforcement works for pedos and those pedos invest in AI so there's a genuine interest in a kiddy porn machine.

  • You just bore out the barrel insert to receive the casing then reinforce it with 100% infill in petg or nylon. It's not a perfect solution but my experiments last about 100 rounds before things get loose. I'm eyeballing injecting epoxy into low infill models next.

  • Console modding is pretty fucking great for exactly this.

  • I'd very much like to make a custom format. I miss the tactile nature and robust quality of cartridge games for Nintendo and the aesthetic feel of 8-track radio in cars. We have the tech to make it happen, I'd like to encode all of my media into 2.5in sata SSD or something like that. Sure it's bulkier than most options but the satisfaction of popping in a cart and the ability to drop it and not immediately destroy it would be nice.

  • While 100% is currently impractical, you can actually print 95% of a gun for 22lr. You need a nail for a fireing pin a barrel insert, and spings you can get from a nerf gun. That said, you could use the same to convert a nerf gun.

I'm also not talking about the single shot proto gun you've seen, I'm talking about a scaled model of a 1911. Guns are so fucking simple and regulation is like trying to prevent lock picking.

  • This is location heavy question and it depends a lot on your willingness to do work for cheap, but there are options.

Shitty part time is a great option. Side hustles mean you're free lance and free lance means you do a lot of work finding paying gigs. If it isn't something you enjoy, just find a liquor store or an independent gas station that needs extra hands. They don't make you jump through hoops like corpos do.

If you have access to a lawn mower and a vehicle to move it, lawncare can pay big. My uncle is in his 70s and still makes his living with a beat up rider and a truck. Everything you need to know can be found online and the more you know the better gigs you can get. I've met a few people that started as a side hustle and now do it for a living.

House repair. Paint walls, patch drywall, surface floors, deep clean. It gets you a lot if work especially in renter heavy neighborhoods. Land lords half ass because they don't want to pay for good work, if you offer cheap they keep you on speed dial.

Bit more expensive and technical, but if you have a 3d printer you can make minis and game pieces to sell at local hoby markets. Nerds pay big money for custom minis for d&d and I paid off my $800 printer in a year selling custom hero forge prints. Use abs and learn how to chemical smooth and you'll be the talk of the town.

Ultimately, the best option is to jest get better employment. It's a bitch but if you get creative you can find it.

  • That's just the backup
