  • I did update the firmware because it wouldn't connect to my WiFi.

    When I checked, the toner I swapped in was from 2019, and the chip had a battery soldered on, so maybe the battery was dead?

    But I am also expecting a level of enshitification as their firmware was bricking machines using third party ink.

  • I really wanted a Pebble when they first came out, and then REALLY wanted one when they were selling for next to nothing when FitBit bought the company.

    I love a smart watch, but hate the daily charging. Im currently wearing a fossil hybrid which has an eink screen under the hands, and I love that it lasts 30 days on a charge, but wish it did more.

    So I ordered a Core 2 Duo. I might still cancel the order before December, but no other watch does what I want, and this is the closest.

    I'd like to say I'd be surprised if he could win another election as his popularity plummets, but the US voters have proven themselves to be stupid and/or lazy.

  • The biggest problems are with 50 year old men in a bit of a mid life crisis buying a big, expensive bike, and then getting on a road with no speed limit. They lose control and kill themselves, and if they are unlucky, take someone else with them.

    I dont count the racers, its like punching yourself in the balls and wondering why you are walking funny.

  • Isle of Man. We have farmers that run the government. They are terrible at it, and its stupid, but we dont have power to rename a sea, so they mostly just argue amongst themselves and the rest of us get on with it. Postage takes longer and is more expensive. We cant get a lot of the services the UK gets. We still dont have 5g. That being said its one of the safest places to live in the British isles. So I dont know, swings and roundabouts.
