Lifetime plex holder here, haven't installed plex since the third time my server shit the bed and it couldn't recover. Jellyfin has never had an issue with hardware failures. It also doesn't try to advertise random shit to me that I'm not interested in, so there's that too.
The mark of a quality developer is not the lack of problems, but the way they respond to them. Any project in active development for a long time is going to run into breaking issues from time to time just because technical debt accrues and memories are short.
The ability to fix a problem, publicly own up to the cause/fix and work to prevent future issues like it are the best we can ask for.
it sucked finding out in Thursday that so-and-so has been gone for a week and a half and wasn't coming back.
Only thing worse than that is finding out day of because you're the one that has to terminate all their accounts. Did that to two of my coworkers in the span of about 18 months....
In other nations, the leading government figure probably isn't kept in power by politicians that refuse to do their duty or citizens that stopped caring about facts when it was still legal to smoke on planes.
Natural selection is driven by pressures that affect reproduction chances
Oh, like dying of old age at 28 of a broken foot or a fucked up tooth?
Like a genetic mutation that makes you sicker
In nature it's what cleans the genetics of a species of disease over time, preventing infinite accumulation of negative mutations
If you think that's all that natural selection is, you're woefully uneducated on the topic. Because natural selection does in fact include external pressures like predators, disease, and accidents, along with genetics. Genetics can absolutely make a difference in making it to reproduction, but environmental factors are just as big of a factor, if not bigger, in making it that long.
To be fair, Alzheimer's won't kill the body, only the mind. And listening to the gibbering fuck talk, it's not out of the realm of possibility that we're watching it happen in real time. Which is cool and good.
Do you just have blank containers with "MILK" printed on them and nothing else? Cuz literally every package of milk I've ever had was branded in some way, even if it's just the local dairy's brand.
Capitalism. Line must always go up, and the only way to do that for most large companies is to gobble up all kinds of other companies to steal their assets and burn their liabilities. That's why most of the grocery store choices funnel back to like a dozen multinational food companies. Like, look at this shit:
Maybe it's just cuz I've got a neurospicy bean who is AuDHD and PDA af, but I do not understand how people can have more than a couple kids. Hell, my wife is the oldest of 5 and it's crazy how much abuse I now see they all endured (both neglect and actual SA abuse of the youngest ones that wasn't brought to light until a few years ago).
I must not have met a good one, cuz mine are always suggesting we meet for something that should be a teams message or email
