Flatpak is a central repository where an application is installed in a sandbox and cached. It can be updated from that central repository.
Snap is a mounted filesystem containing a repository and is stored locally. It is not sandboxed. It cannot be updated in part but is overwritten in whole. It is distributed by individual app maintainers, not a centralized repository.
They're building concentration camps and the scope of who they target for detention increases. Immigrants. Now US citizens. It will not stop until we stop it.
The total lack of concern for easy on boarding of newbies. There's a lot of big talk about taking on social media monopolies but absolutely no interest in coordinating to actually accomplish that goal.
Little guys who get caught get the book thrown at them. But oligarchs get to carve out a legal right to pirate for profit. It's this disparity people are pissed off about here.
So meta gets to claim fair use with pure digital duplication, but archive.org doesn't when they scan physical copies of books and only lend out the same number of copies as they own in warehouses. That's piracy.
