  • You cannot make restrictions to the distribution of the source code under the GPL

  • Depends on the required experience. Most java jobs I see are for junior/medior with corresponding salaries. Go jobs tend to be more medior/senior and thus have higher range.Senior java jobs may pay a bit better but there are way less of them compared to go jobs

  • Yeah the language is not the most sexy but it does the job. The tooling is where the real benefits come to life

  • Yeah I wouldn't say a java service taking multiple seconds to boot up being scalable the same way that any other compiled language will be.There are also the huge "legacy" frameworks that slow down java, the auto magic and more non features that make maintaining any real world java application a pain.

  • Communication is a two way street. If what you meant to convey as humorous did not land as such, but instead as condescending, maybe try reflecting why and how you can improve your communication in the future.

  • The tone was condescending yes.

  • Why so aggressive? Did someone hurt you?

  • hiring a person I can't afford.

That's the crux of the issue for me. Most models will be trained using everything they can find on the internet and steal the ability to draw from these images. Then nobody will pay artists and AI vendors will make money instead of real humans.Capitalists win and we lose

  • Not if you run a wildcard CNAME for your sub domains right ?Like I have *.mydomain.com point to my server, and there I have a different reverse proxy depending on the domain.

  • Intel has bigger better EUV machines than TSMC

Do they ? I thought they were pretty late on the EUV train, so maybe now they may have more modern machines than tsmc but they clearly lack the expertise to make the most out of it

  • Indeed it is technically possible to donate, but like you said, they are really not making it easy nor do they depend on it for survival.Money corrupts and makes aligning user needs and profitability quite difficult, as we see with Plex now

  • Jellyfin refuses donations so even if I (not the one you're responding to) wanted to, I would not be able to.Pretty funny one has to keep reducing features and increase prices, while the other is actively refusing funds because they have enough already.

  • Can your "radio" be called that if they listen for sonic pulses ?I thought the term radio was exclusive to electromagnetic radiation, does the term also apply for sonars ?Or maybe bats also use some kind of EM waves to echo locate too ?Edit: not trying to be pendantic, I'm genuinely curious about this

  • I mean, VW tried to blame poor quality software (aka a bug) for their abnormal emissions, before it was discovered it's fully intended to cheat emissions testing.I wouldn't put it above Tesla to do the same here.

  • The north and south will make contradictory statements about it and the federal decision will be somewhere in between

  • Thanks for taking the time to explain it. Indeed the new runtime method does not guarantee when the resource will be cleaned, so something like that Drop trait would be quite useful

  • Not sure if that's what you are referring to as destructors, but they added a new way to have code run at resource collection in go 1.24

  • Heavy in taste or heavy in abv? We have both light in taste and light in alcohol beers, sometimes even both at the same time :)
