Before the election some asshole on Lemmy said if I voted for Harris, I’d have “Palastine blood on my hands.” Well I voted for her anyway because (and I can’t stress this enough) she was the most viable candidate to beat trump, and unlike trump, there might have been a chance to save at least some Palestinian lives.
Well trump won, and it was in part because of those assholes who refused to vote for Harris. The fucker who said that is the one with the blood on his hands.
I am positive that the protest voter campaign was 100% pro-trump. They wanted an Israel victory. Probably paid for by AIPAC.
I love summer.I’d rather have 90° than 9°.I like having daylight past 4pm.I like seeing blue skies and the sun.I like being able to go outside without bundling up under five layers, and still being cold.I like not having to shovel my walks, snowblower my drive, scrape off my car, etc.I like swimming.I like seeing green trees, colorful flowers , bumblebees, and nature.I like taking my kid to the park so he can ride his skateboard.I like going to the beach.
Look at it this way: Brutalist buildings are more “honest.”
All modern buildings are brutalist (reinforced concrete, bare materials) until their glass / metal / brick facades are put on.
The Obama library is the anti-trump building. It’s devoid of flamboyance, false adornment, unnecessary material, or flashy opulence. It is exactly what it wants to be. Imposing but unobtrusive on the skyline. It’s part of the scenery, without becoming the scenery.
Now you’re just splitting hairs. I mean we’d still call solar panels “solar panels,” even if they were collecting energy from another star (say, on an interstellar spaceship).
Republicans would use that as an excuse to keep him in office.
