  • I get why you're being downvoted, but there's definitely a wee bit of truth in there..

  • No more TV in the bedroom in many many years (basically since I've had my own places). However I do put a random doc on my phone and listen in one ear about the fall off the Roman empire to get me to sleep.

  • It's a Nikon D5, the shot is at 52k ISO.

  • That sounds great, gonna have to give this UFO 50 a spin.

  • Not sure I completely agree haha, it's not a complicated recipe but it's kind of a skill and some elbow grease to execute it just right. I'm talking starting from real cheese not a premade industrial paste. There's a figure 8 movement to master along with proportions and timing to get it to the perfect consistency.

  • Cheese... Fondue, raclette, tartiflette....

  • There's a million great recommendations in this thread already so I don't feel the need to add, but I wanted to chime in that the type of channel that would just use AI slides/"footage" today was always around but were just doing lazy work instead. Also a rule of thumb that seems to kinda work so far is if it's also on Nebula then it's usually pretty well made and researched.

  • Beyond his interest in FOSS and privacy, he's also just mellowed out a ton, the dude is in his mid (late?) thirties and you can tell.

  • Oh lovely.

  • This might be what finally makes me get nebula.

  • Just give it access to the nuclear codes and get it over with.

  • Meanwhile in Europe I take off for road trips with my EV that has very mid range, fully trusting there's gonna be a station when I need one, at first I used to plan the trips around charges but quickly figured out it's not necessary. If you have a newer model with big range then it's really a total non-issue. Sucks to hear Brazil isn't there yet but I'm sure the infrastructure will catch up soon.

  • Operation epic fury? Did Musk name that one?

  • I totally get that, but we are married with a child and living very far away from any traditional support system (in a different country than either of our families). It's certainly tough, especially missing out on the free child care that everyone around us seems to be enjoying, but honestly it's not that bad, and even has some of its own benefits.

  • I see that sentiment on every battery news, but it sure seems to me like battery tech is advancing quite drastically. Are there over-hyped headlines and articles pumping up tech that isn't anywhere near completion? Sure, but meanwhile EVs have become a thing, house batteries, etc.

  • One thing missing from the list is disguising your gait/walk. I don't know how far along they are with reconciling databases about it, but the technology to identify you by the way you walk already exists. I hear adding a pebble in your shoe helps.

  • Not creepy at all!

  • Do it, imagine it sounds good, the stage trick you'd gain!
