  • i had someone call me a terf cause I said I didn't like a TV show they did. that's what I mean. there's someone clearly being bigoted (like the artist Jago which should be banned from the instance) but not all dark artists rely on being a misogynistic fuck. some just genuinely think darker topics are entertaining. and some are.

that is why I am asking for is leniency on dark humor. (NOT JAGO. HIS COMICS SHOULD BE BANNED. I HAVE TO CLEARLY SPELL THIS OUT SINCE PEOPLE ARE READING OVER THIS POINT, APPARENTLY.)

  • "if the consensus is to ban Jago comics for their content, then that seems like a good decision"

i know. which is why I wrote this. just pasted it there so you can see it more clearly.

  • I'm not sure we need to keep adding rules just for one artist. if the consensus is to ban Jago comics for their content, then that seems like a good decision.

however "bigoted" seems to mean a wide variety of different things now. and it seems that some people are ok with some darker forms of humor than others.

jago is well known for making comics specifically to try and piss people off. but I feel that dark humor should not be banned.

edit: No Jago is not dark humor. Yes Jago comics should be banned from the instance. please stop likening me to a bigot just because my brain is spicy and I have difficulty explaining shit sometimes. thank you.

  • his post history is very telling as to what kind of troll he is. he was posting comics from various artists he enjoyed until recently when he decided to start exclusively posting this artist.

likely because he noticed it gave more consistent downvotes. i guess if what you're going for is "edgy incel teen" energy, that's the way to do it.

  • I'm listening...

  • yes of course they do.

  • they do be goin hard on aphids tho.

  • i understand.

  • "I have decided that beep(at)piefed.world is allowed to stay – with conditions. I have reached out privately to them about their past behavior, and they conveyed that they will respect the rules going forward."

oh cool! i totally trust a poster who posted specifically in bad taste in order to fight with as many people possible to stand by his weird obsessive stance.

i also totally trust the dude that instantly made alt accounts and alt communities just so he could attempt to evade bans and new rules.

I'm so happy to hear he promised this time! that makes such a huge difference!

  • he's gotta find the worst of the worst for this artist. i have this poster tagged as a troll, so I could understand wanting to find the most offensive of these comics to post.

  • oh I'm just using their comment as a sounding board for frustration. nothing will make this kind of troll stop except a ban.

    engaging, not engaging, neither matters.

  • god damn we need moderation. has anyone tried to get ahold of the sole moderator so we can get this idiot banned?

  • the irony of this being a conversation about a JagoDibuja comic is pretty glaring, honestly. i do love it.

    quite entertaining!

  • porque no los dos?

edit: you guys, you should probably know who the artist is before you defend him. this guy has been drawing women as sex objects for years.

  • i feel like I'm responsible somehow 😅

  • this is a very fun cosplay. love it!

  • tastes fine to me. certainly not "foul", just a little salty.

  • unfortunately it varies from different instances, but there's quite a few that don't have voting.

and I can recommend voyager app because you can just turn them off in settings.

the beauty of the fediverse is that you can have requirements for your browsing patterns/instance that you can follow and not everyone has to do that very same thing. you can join a platform that represents your type of content or even make your own.

  • the headline is scary, but the article is scarier, honestly.

"I learned about the incident from Chakrabarty, a computer-science professor at Stony Brook University. I’d previously written about his efforts to quantify the proliferation of AI in novels self-published on Amazon. After commenting on Tuch’s post, he plugged the whole column into the Pangram AI detector. The program estimated that more than 60 percent of it was AI-generated. I ran the column through four other AI-detection tools: Two of them flagged 30 percent of the work as likely AI-generated, one found no AI, and one suspected AI but offered no percentage."

i think 30% is almost scarier than the 60 or the potential of a 100% article. that someone would rely on it and disperse it into their own work means more people get used to reading it and it being a part of their every day routine.

    unknowingly consuming partial slop sucks.
