  • This definitely gave me a new perspective. Thank you. I disagree with some things and the finished product is what is seen by most and "does not do anything for me" / I don't feel anything, which I value the most. You are more versed on the technical side of art than I am for sure. I hope people see this as a light hearted meme and nothing deeper, how I intended it.

Edit: Also, the fact that a vast amount of people dislike it, no matter how versed they are in art, still means something IMO, as on the subjective side everyone's opinion is equally valid.

  • Never heard of that, but I love an actual (with evidence) conspiracy theory. Spare me any conspiracy hypotheses tho, please.

  • Sure, but if I were to do that, I'd at least buy something nice.

  • Me? Probably Neanderthal. 😅

  • If he was an alcoholic, he would be "normal" at a certain blood alcohol level. At some point people drink only to avoid withdrawal, which can be lethal in the case of alcohol. I can absolutely see that the process of creating something influences how one perceives it.

  • Appreciation of art is always 100% subjective (except technique). So your opinion is just as valid.

  • I love abstract art. I hope this isn't giving people a wrong impression. There should be something that makes me go "oh that's a cool idea" or an aesthetically pleasing composition.

Edit: He didn't even use complementary colors. It's just random splatters.

I like this digital art by borrachas1 for example:

  • Agree completely. I think Pollock was just really good at bullshitting people and once you are a big name you can pretty much make whatever you want and people will add value because of your name.

  • Not trying to be a dick, if you enjoy his art that's great 👍

  • I can definitely relate to the counter strike stuff. I played faceit and esea for a while and the competitiveness eventually ruined the game for me. Also it was incredibly frustrating to start a regular game just for fun and have an opponent start spinning immediately.

  • Oh cool, most of them are open source and / or free as well, if anyone wants to try them.

  • DS 2 is probably the worst game to start with 😅. Glad to hear you stuck with it and enjoyed most souls games. I have also not played nightreign and don't really intend to.

  • Honestly, the good thing about that is that everything is hand crafted. So exploring is really rewarding IMO. A good example is an area where you find tons of power slugs.

  • I tried factorio and didn't like it. I really enjoyed mindustry though. I have Dyson sp widllisted, maybe that'll be the next game I try. Thanks for your recommendations. Have fun in Minecraft 😊

  • I didn't even know that game existed 😅 I guess everyone has their guilty pleasure games.

  • Christopher Larkin is a genius composer. I hear the first note of dirtmouth and instantly get goosebumps everywhere.

  • Maybe it is a good thing that Activision ruined blizzard, if wow was consuming so much of your life. I lost interest in Satisfactory when there was nothing cool to unlock anymore. And I think Minecraft remains so popular because it is the most modded game in history (I think). I am in my early 30s and only play single player modded. Tech mods can make Minecraft incredibly complex, but even without mods it is crazy what people have built in that game (like a working computer and pokemon red, the whole game, just with Redstone and command blocks).
