What I do is: Up, Home, type cd , Delete (hold/repeat as many times as needed), Enter.
The Home key instantly brings your cursor to the start of the command line (before the ls), even if the command is long enough to wrap.
I'm not a terminal guru, and I don't aspire to become one. I don't want to memorize arcane symbols that each has a subtly different meaning, and I especially don't want to execute them before I see explicitly what they're going to do. So while the top comment of cd !$ is a perfectly good and correct answer, I offer this alternative in case you, like me, like to see what you're doing as you do it. Home and End are pretty good.
Bought it on Switch, played a bit and never got that far.
Bought it on GOG too, played even less. It's cool that save sync works between them.
I, too, hope to start over and actually play it through this time. I'm definitely going to like it, it's just hard to get in the habit of playing it and it's not the kind of game you can just casually launch every couple of months.
Because 1. they then stop being annoying to everyone for a while, and 2. they instantly become the shitty parents' problem. I do feel bad for them for the pain, but my personal relief that the noise is stopping outweighs that.
Also they may learn a lesson from it about not being so physically active in places not suitable for it. Some lessons for some people can only be learned the hard way.
