A lot of interesting answers here. I'd like to talk about something related: everything is rented. Especially in a big city.
You'll pay to rent a home, a car, a bike, a seat (on a bus or in a place). Especially when you're in a big city, you don't own much of anything. You'll rent a car by getting a taxi or using a ride share service or similar, just so you can get around, or rent a bike to do the same in one of the many variations of public bike sharing services. Then you'll rent an apartment for a place to live, never buying or owning property of your own. Some people even rent to own their furniture and appliances.
Even those that "buy" a car are often on a lease agreement, which is just an exclusive rental with the option to buy at a discount at the end.
Your phone is probably on some kind of payment programme with your carrier so technically that's a form of rental as well.
You'll finance computers and other expensive items, which you don't technically own until the balance is paid in full.
When living in a city, I'm not sure exactly what you personally own.... At most it's a short list of personal effects... Maybe a few things from Ikea? Some dishes and utensils?
... And it's only getting more and more extreme. There's subscription and rental services for almost everything now.
I live outside of any major cities in my area and I own most everything I have. I still have a mortgage, which is a sentence I wasn't sure I would ever be able to say, but here I am.... And I have a few debts, but my name is on the deed to my property, my car is paid off, I paid back my student loans... Other than some credit cards and my house, I own everything I have, outright. I used to live in a city and bluntly, I didn't own much when I did.
I had somewhat of a debate going with, of all people, a prospective employer, during an interview even. His position was that everything would end up being rented/leased/whatever, with the only exceptions being subscription services for stuff like food and services. He was convinced that was the way things were headed and it was only a matter of time. At that time, I disagreed with him, but looking at everything now, is only proving his point. I got that job by the way.
So my answer for OP is, not much, and the list is getting shorter all the time.
I like doing the reverse.
Like if someone asks me if I want A or B, and I'll say yes.

This is the entire reason why I put smart lights and smart light switches in my entire house except in the kitchen and bathroom.
It's all about safety. It will be the same reason why I never want to let any range/stove/oven to ever be able to be controlled remotely. It's not just that I don't want to enable it, I don't want it to be possible.
At most, for a "smart" oven, I want to know when it's on and what temp it is, mostly so that I can create automations to text me when it's been on for too long to let me know I'm stupid and left the oven on.... With the fridge, same deal if I forgot to close the fridge, or if the fridge stops keeping things cold.
That's the most I would want. Reporting only. But if the "smart" device can control anything about its operation remotely, fuck that.
With a washer/dryer, I would only want end-of-cycle alerts because I'm frequently too far away from it where I normally hang out at home, to hear the bell. Reporting. That's it.
I can accomplish most of that with an esp32 and a variety of off the shelf sensors, or by tying into existing circuits on the machine to get their status, then send alerts through home assistant. No vendor specific BS required.

Yep. Ever since I saw the garden in the back yard, which occupies about half of the back yard, I wanted to make a vegetable garden with raised beds, eventually enclosing it like a greenhouse in the long term.
I've been too busy and my money has been to scarce trying to pay enough to live here that I haven't made any progress on achieving that goal. It really doesn't help that lumber prices went though the roof around the time we moved in, so I can't even really afford to buy the wood I would need to make the raised beds. And I don't want like 6" or whatever raised beds. I'm thinking more like 3 ft. I don't want to have to crawl on the ground or even really bend over to plant/tend/harvest whatever I plant. So it's not going to be a small amount of wood that I'll need.
Then I need to figure out how to find the time to attend to it, when I should plant/fertilize/harvest, how often I should tend to the plants etc.... There's a lot I don't know about what it takes to maintain a veggie garden. I'll get there eventually, or I'll die trying.

Between "freeing" the slaves, only to aggressively rebrand them as criminals (eg, guilty of (verb) while black), and the wage slavery many of these companies are happy to engage in, everything has been pretty well cooked for a while.
If they brand you as a criminal and force you into a position of working as a slave, then your food, accommodations, and everything is provided for you. This is "classic" slavery where the slave owns nothing and the slaver provides everything, controlling what is, or isn't allowed, provided, acceptable, etc.
If they don't (or can't) brand you as a criminal, unless you're from a rich family, you end up as a wage slave, where you make just enough to scrape by, often sharing accommodations with others to afford the landlord's rent, never owning property of your own or building any level of wealth through property ownership.... You don't make enough to have a vehicle worth anything, nor anything else of any significant value. You're "free" to choose your slaver, and they let you pick which landlord you pay homage to... The main difference here is that you get to "pick" your oppressors, and now instead of the slaver providing everything for you (food, clothing, accommodation), you have to figure that out for yourself.
The difference is honestly quite small IMO. And when you look at it objectively, you find that a large majority of people are still in slavery in some form or another.
Look around you and realize that "middle class" is pretty much no longer a thing. You're either poor and a wage slave, very poor and/or criminal and a literal slave, or you have enough money to be "independently wealthy" being a landlord or one of the slavers.
They've built a system that can only sustain most people at a level of poverty that affords then no ability to escape from that poverty, while the owners and shareholders, landlords, and bosses of the world, sit on their asses and collect the fruits of our labor.

The only heartbreaking part is that before we moved in there were perennial flowers planted along the edge of the garden, I guess it was a flower garden for the previous owners, and I'm not sure I can save them before I go scorched earth on the rest of the area.

My current grass is patchy, I'm certain there's little or no nitrogen. I've been meaning to pick up a small bag of clover seeds and at least augment my lawn with them to make it a bit more green at least.
I'm fortunate that I was able to get a battery electric mower for my home shortly after moving in. So there's no inconvenient gas fetching and mixing, just a pair of bigass fuck off batteries that live on the charger between mows.
The real problem is that we have a garden in the back that I want to set up as a vegetable garden and I just haven't had time to do the work and it's currently over run with weeds. I'll get to it eventually. I'm planning on killing everything currently in the garden with some kind of weed killer, not sure what yet exactly, but I've seen some places recommend a soap/brine mix that seems effective. Then cover it with that black landscaping/gardening fabric so shit doesn't grow for a while, if that's successful, build raised beds and fill them with fresh, untainted soil and grow veggies there.... It's going to be a project and I have no idea how I'm going to find time or money to do it, but the way things are going, I can't afford not to do it.

I'm talking about the idiom of it being applied to anything that isn't a literal slope that's slippery. Like using it to describe that doing thing a will very easily create a situation where another thing is likely to happen.

I sometimes wonder if this is the source of the phrase "slippery slope" as an idiom.
Because once you start silencing public figures from having any ability to speak out against the administration, and you can viably see that there's no real backlash against the responsible parties (usually the government) to doing so, then it's easier to rally against nonconformists. Or doesn't matter who isn't conforming, just that they don't.
So anyone who is specifically a minority of the population, like the LGBTQIA+ community; there's a lot of you, but there's a fuckton more cis/straight people.... You all are different and therefore being branded as enemies of the state. They're just starting with trans people. Make no mistake that they're going to come after the rest of the rainbow, if they're left unchecked.
This is the reason why the LGBTQIA+ community and it's supporters exist, and everyone needs to realize that. When they come after one group, the rest of you aren't far behind. So you all need to stand up and protest this shit, as much and as loudly as you can. I'm not excluded from this, despite being cis/straight. I am an ally of the community and I'll fight shoulder to shoulder with all of you.
They've silenced or cancelled dissenting speech already. Now they're coming for the trans people. This needs to stop or America is just going to get more and more authoritarian over the next few years.
I'm not American, but I welcome any of our American friends who are fleeing and looking for asylum. I live in Canada and I want you all to be safe and happy. Yeah. Closest we come to something like that is either scan to email (directly from the printer) or scan to (network) folder. I've used both in the past, but both require a network connection.
If they had a network connection to the printer then the user would have direct access to it, and they wouldn't need a computer to act as a print server.
Hilariously, in that case, the printer has Ethernet, so it's entirely possible to do what they want. They just need to find a way to plug the printer into Ethernet. I explained this to them, they basically said that there was no way they could do that. Sure. Ok.

But there's other options. There's both pre-built and DIY power monitoring solutions that use clamps on the hot wires to measure amperage, so that's an option.
I was just thinking to tie a sensor wire into the LED that lights up when "cycle finished" is activated. As soon as it pulls high, send a notification.

Just goes to show that there's many ways to solve the problem that isn't spending an extra (however much money) to get a fancy smart appliance.
I was thinking of doing the same idea with the stove, run a wire to each light for "hot surface" on my stove, and when that's pulled high for more than, say, an hour, send an alert. Also get an oven-temperature-safe thermal probe, and wire that to a sensor line on an esp32 or similar and read the value. I'd need to calibrate the electrical signal to temperature, but after that, it would be able to report the internal temp of the oven with a decent amount of accuracy. Just run that thermal probe into the oven next to the built in one that regulates the temp when the oven is on.
Ideally, I want both energy usage and temp monitored for the stove.
