And you are free to believe otherwise. But sadly I don't see legal protests having any effect on a government actively seeking to undermine the rule of law.
Insisting on the confines of legality when the opposing side has shed any pretence of legality months (arguably years) ago is... a stance to take. Just not a winning one.
Not sure if that's true actually, the Nazis were supremely incompetent as well. It just doesn't take that much competence to smash a delicate balance like the separation of powers. You basically need control of one the three branches of government and you are good to try, Trump controls two and this news is about him smashing the third.
Well I don't know about that. Maybe if this current outrage gets enough people to engage in internal party politics the DNC can be reformed? I'm honestly not too knowledgeable about that area of US politics, but my understanding as a layperson was that there isn't really anything (except for party-internal conflict obviously) preventing registered democrats from trying to reform or even replace the DNC.
But even if that is possible not sure if it would be fast enough. There are probably a host of different internal elections involved to gain the required influence, and the next national midterms elections are probably way beyond Trumps deadline for going completely mask off "I'm your dictator now"-fascist.
Isn't Karma essentially just the delta between upvotes and downvotes you get with some sort of weighting thrown in?
Because you can very much get that delta on here, it just isn't visible in the default Lemmy interface. If you look at your account through an Mbin frontend for example you can see the "Reputation points" value in the sidebar: https://fedia.io/u/@wittycomputer@feddit.org
As the link in the post body explains you may direct your complaints to https://old.reddit.com/user/HEPS_08 of the r/stalker subreddit, although I'm sure they have heard about it in these past four years.
I have indicated that I do it, not that I enjoy it. But yeah, I prefer it to skimming 20 verbose blog posts and outdated Stackoverflow questions to find one that is actually related to my specific use case. And often enough the search results will be online versions of the man pages anyway. Not quite sure why you are so hostile about it, I just said "read the docs" basically.
A ton, like the ones integrated in many editors/IDEs, GitHub Desktop, the one with the little turtle icon, forgot its name... Using gitk all the time. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against a GUI, just saying I had a much better learning experience with git once I started using the CLI and man pages instead of a GUI and random tutorials for them. It's just a lot more accessible and better documented in my experience.
Just my 2¢ but disagree on this one. Where GUIs are usually powerful but inflexible, the CLI is both powerful and flexible. And getting into trouble usually means you have a print on the console that tells you exactly what happened and what concept or command to look up.
Matter of opinion and goals I guess, but if you want to understand git as a tool I recommend learning the CLI.
Seconded, best history channel on Youtube that I know of. Only downside is that there are months between episodes, which isn't surprising though given the in-depth analysis presented in each.
Are they serious, like showing images of Musk doing this is unlawful?
Potentially, which I guess might have been the entire point. The ZPS is no stranger to provoking law suites, and since Musk did this in the US this might be their attempt at baiting the German jurisdiction to take a stance on it.
That said the article you linked says the police talks about having an "Anfangsverdacht" (initial suspicion), which basically means "we have heard about it and will look into it".
The headline is misleading. The bill allows AI and algorithms to be used, as long as it doesn't supplant a licensed medical professional deciding (K.1.D), or violate civil rights along with a few other things, but it's not outright prohibited as the headline could be interpreted.
Once saw a (German) documentary about this building. They have drop-off places on the ground floor where delivery drivers leave their goods in locked boxes. Payment and and locking/unlocking of the box is done digitally through phone.
Well for lack of a better comparison, it's kind of like a Trump rally. Not quite, of course, the style Trump applies is tailored to the current American sensibilities, with his silly little dances and whatnot. But the way he wields anger and hate and "patriotism" to get a rise out of the crowd seems very much alike. And yeah, it's sadly undeniable that Hitler had a talent for this. Greater one than Trump maybe.
Well actually "don't do anything illegal" seems to be the thing giving an easy win to cops and politicians here.
"Oh, they are ignoring the laws and putting people in concentration camps? Just politely tell them they are wrong, that'll show them!"
