  • It kinda depends on what you do when going out. We'll go to a park and just bullshit with each other. Or go fishing at a local pond/lake (initial investment of fishing gear can be about the same as a restaurant dinner, or less)... doesn't really matter if we catch anything, we're just trying to get out of the house. We'll peruse the library occasionally. Hell, we've grabbed a kite for less than like 5 bucks, and sat on a blanket in the park. Going out can be expensive, but our company together is pretty much free and the only thing we're really after... plus, maybe some sunshine for a bit

  • What's it pay though?

  • My wife does this with her mom (it was originally a "twin language" that her mom and identical twin spoke together as kids). And then I eventually picked up on it, and now we all sound strange when people hear us use it lol. It's also nothing fancy, but nobody really thinks we're actually saying shit when they overhear it

  • Some of us do hold this stress because of ptsd from having to deal with it so directly. Idk that person's back-story, but I've seen the same type of reaction plenty in my field. They want to eradicate any sense of misinformation that they feel is being said, because of their experience with it. It's visceral, unfortunately

I also know exactly where you're coming from and that you're legit kinda just talking about a beard (and you're being friendly on a public forum). Try not to take too much offense I guess; and I personally appreciate the amount of chill you have towards that much reaction. I hope a lot of us can heal one day. And I hope you can continue being as calm and kind as you seem, to those who are still hurting about it all

Source: I saw too many people die horribly, rapidly, and several times a day for months (and then often times, for years)... while trying to protect myself and loved ones— and some people acted selfishly, according to the mis/disinformation they were fed. It's still visceral when I think about it, because of the amount of fear/stress it produced. But I'll never give up on healing myself, just as much as I tried to help those we lost. It's just hard af dude, but not impossible. I'm sorry for all of us ngl, and truly appreciate you hearing me about it

  • Easily one of the top 5 reasons, right up there with killing spiders

  • The worst is when you think "ah, it's just the cat", but then you see them sleeping nearby. So now I have to assume it's just a little ghost cat, so I can go right back to sleep

  • I had to go through that in the 6th grade to play a sport (wrestling), but didn't have the wherewithal to say, "Nah, I'm good. No thanks". But I do remember that poor lady was just as uncomfortable as I was.

As a pre-pubescent, having my testicles tugged down by a kind-looking woman (who was being as professional as humanly possible)... idk, I still remember that, like we both knew it was weird. Ended up quitting anyway, cause wrestling in middle school was definitely awkward. But that physical stuck with me

And the coach getting reprimanded for showering with us after practice... I kinda wish I was joking. Dodged a bullet for sure, but looking back... fuuuuck. That was a thing I knew wasn't right. Sorry, that's an unlocked memory. That lady was gentle and safe with my nads though, so that was cool. Just wish I had a heads up first, christ!

Sooo, yeahh.. idk if that's normal, but it happens. Probably caused a kink or two, but my sack and I passed the physical. Dunno what we were checking without asking (drop your trousers; balls in hand suddenly), but apparently my bojangles were cool? Damn, completely forgot about that though

Moral of the story; it is apparently a thing. Dunno if it's medically weird or not, but it was weird for 6th grade me

  • I just try to cover my gonads and step aside. It's an exposure thing; I very well may be subjected to it several times per day... the patient (at most) several times per stay. Years vs days, it's worth it to try and lessen the impact of exposure. I'm not being diagnosed. I'm just trying to help

  • I'ma have to re-remember a facet of my life where "I'll make do" was a thing. I mean, it still very much so is... but fuck, I could be "making do" even more if I tried just a little. I don't wanna, because comfortability and all that, but I've done more with less in my past. I'm tired, but I guess it is what it is for the time being. Really wish I didn't have to because of greedy evil, but fuck 'em... good luck in your bunker, I'll smile at the sun instead

  • Dunno why I never considered that. A VPN over wifi on one, for banking and whatever... and then my phone. Hell, I used to carry an MP3 player, flip phone, and a camera if the time called for it. Making me feel like I lost my way lol, appreciate the succinct tip

Edit: smacking my head cause I literally have to carry two phones at work, as is. Why tf have I never considered this as an option for myself, even when I knew it was optional? Damn man, gonna grab me a phone for personal use and put this one to (for) work. Thanks again my friend

  • I think it's happened about twice for me and not once did I recognize them... but I have issues recognizing faces as is

  • Well today I learned, thanks!
