  • "Fool me twice well... Shame on... Shame on...Point being we been fooled once we won't get fooled again!"

  • How about we just get to the logical conclusion:

    Techbro Land

Hook them up to a simulation, yes, like The Matrix! In this simulation they get to do everything they dream of.

Crypto shitcoins as far as the eye can see. Their stonks all go to the moon. Everybody is prompting Ai any time their neurons accidentally bump together. The simulation will accurately simulate an entire earth population just prompting AI and glued to their phones. Look! More profits! Wow.

Ai gambling! Ai sports! Ai art! Ai dating! Ai social media! Ai business! Ai porn! It's all here in ✨ Techbro Land ✨.

We can even accurately simulate mass misery of the general population so our little tenants feel superior! Meanwhile, the Techbro doesn't need to sleep. They believe they unlocked the code to Immortality by micro dosing various hallucinogens and stimulants, allowing them to spend 100% of their day in a chair reviewing an Ai agent's reviewing of vibe code!

There are no "regulations" or even governments in ✨ Techbro Land ✨ . There's a single AI Simulated Singularity (A.S.S) TechBroKing Fascist that makes all the memes, and punishes all the poor working consumption class. Every living situation is AirBnB. All the cars are self driving 24 ton pickups. Trains only exist to ship drones and supplies for infinite data centers and government contracts.

Computing is subscription only, games are rented by the minute, nobody owns anything.

Profits go up and up and up and up and up without end. No climate change, despite the global temperature going up 12⁰C, wars are fought daily with killer robots...I could go on.

The important thing is: These little hoodie-clad megalomanics can't even tell they're actually just locked safely away from the rest of us in stasis in a former mega data center.

...The rest of us, in the real world, take the best of our computing standards with us, and dial all the bullshit back to like 2004 and try this shit again.

  • And that's where you put up little martin hotels, to encourage dozens of those adorable little high-velocity mosquito-slayers to move in, which could make living in Oklahoma somewhat bearable!

  • Well, crap, entropy really is nature's tendency if we're not constantly maintaining every little thing. Better go tell my mom in law...at least she uses the clear stuff but didn't know anything about the rest!

We used to get a ton of hummingbirds too, but since we added bird seed feeders and see a lot more sparrows and stuff, we haven't seen any hummingbirds lately. I hope they're okay. :(

  • Honestly I always loved looking at birds but in the city it started seeming like there were just so much less of them...

We started putting some bird seed out back, and I didn't know so many were even in our neighborhood! It's brought me a lot of happiness to see them all gathering around.

Especially the little sparrows and mourning doves. :)

    ... I'm in my 30's so, damn. 😆

  • "The Grid. A digital frontier.

I tried to picture clusters of information as they moved through the computer.

What did they look like? Ships? motorcycles? Were the circuits like freeways?

I kept dreaming of a world I thought I'd never see. And then, one day...

    ... I got in! "

🎶[Sickest synth drop that is part of my core memories forever]🎶

  • Never saw this game before...ooooo that soundtrack is silky. Keeping an eye on this one!

  • I really sometimes wish I had a bit more space to figure myself out and develop a strong identity like that. I was raised in a pretty strict but loving situation where I was constantly trying to gain my parents' approval.

Maybe to prove I didn't need so much correction and lecturing all the time.

Many of my friends developed better skills and aptitudes maybe because they didn't constantly feel the conflict of needing that approval. I wish I could've been single-mindedly obsessed with making art and games back then instead of ruminating on cognitive dissonance.

ADHD didn't help: along with all the learning struggles, you get real sensitive to rejection and try to avoid it at all costs.

  • Haha, with my experiences, it felt like I was constantly put into situations with older people.

I wonder where all the fun energetic 20-somethings were in my 20's. Like, all hiding out, or in college, or something.

Once out of high school, I never felt like I had my "peer group." Just, other people. When I do encounter those similar in age now, it feels like they far surpassed me.

Being able to be friends with any age group is great, I guess. But I never really feel like I belong anywhere, just like I'm visiting and passing through.

  • Chipz knows their chips!

  • Basically same situation, but lived at home because there was no jobs. People in snazzy suits were all lined up around the block for a shot at working for a burger chain.

  • If you have a generator, I've heard you could wire a thick extension cord with 2 male ends and just run power to a wall outlet.

    Ah yes, Suicide Cords! .

This is what we call a Very Bad Idea.

Honestly even the car battery thing sounds like playing with fire, but I'm not an electrician so I'd let more experienced folks tell us not to do that one. Lol

  • I'm so bummed out that this wasn't around yet when I accidentally ruined my Honda Element's motor.

But then again, it seems even these wouldn't wanna push that frame around very much yet. :p

  • For responsible printing that's wonderful.

At our library I quickly learned that people want to just print entire reams of nonsense, like web pages that were clearly not made for printing and waste entire pages on like one graphic, and then 35 pages of comments because this person didn't know how to select certain pages or use "print preview"

...So they pay 10¢ a page. Lol

  • And software, while we're at it. Web plugins included. Basically just Facebook.

It could've stopped at "Lets people share things with friends and family" but they'll never be satisfied, until even if they have the entire world's money, attention, and data in their clutches.

What they've done to VR pisses me off to the core.

It'd be like a trippy episode of Magic Schoolbus. XD
