  • What we need and what is are two wildly different things. I also think asking for the collapse of one party and the creation of another is only going to lead you right to the same problem. It may take you a bit to get there but a two party system is a recipe for exactly what you are seeing.

  • You are high off your rocker if you legitimately think you have a better chance of winning as an independent (or whatever they want to call the new party) than a democrat right now. We are so woefully entrenched in a two party system that we need multiple elections cycles just for a third party to even get a foothold in people's minds. I am very very in favor of additional parties and have always thought that the two party system is absolutely terrible for just about everything we wish a government to do but at this point I just don't see it happening for quite some time, epecially with first past the polls voting.

John Adams was painfully accurate in his warning:

Let me now warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party... It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeebles the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms; foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption... There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties.

The whole letter is fantastic and incredibly salient today. But this sums it up decently.

  • There's lots and lots and lots of examples of tariffs flopping tho. They have their place for sure I'd say but typically you end up with crappier products for a higher price. And that's not even counting corollary effects like reciprocal tariffs or straining international relationships (which, surprise surprise, we've already seen both of and we haven't even really started yet lol)

  • Not to mention the obviously rushed and dumbass way they're just wholesale firing is absolutely going to have hidden costs resulting from those agencies trying to make up for suddenly not having the ability to... do what they're supposed to.

I can save a lot of money now by never changing the oil in my car but later Im gonna pay out the ass cause I'm gonna have to pay to replace the whole engine because of it.

  • They did it while the mice were at school too. Didn't even contact their parents or anything. The mice school nurse just ran around kidnapping all those poor mice students and making them transgender!

  • In a shocking coincidence, it just so happens that 100% of the fake news is stuff they don't like and all of the real news just happens to be everything they agree with. Truly an incredibly coincidence.

  • I do think there's at least some validity to it. Both have issues for sure. But it's starting to seem like putting a school bully and a mass murderer on the same level of shititude at this point. Both sides suck to an extent. Both sides absolutely don't suck equally tho from my perspective.

  • I don't think it will happen because

    A) she's a woman and they've tried that twice already

And more importantly B) she has said many times she doesn't agree with a lot of the democratic party's policies. She has beliefs that would undoubtedly vibe with a ton of voters but there's been a very obvious pattern of both parties only primary-ing "fly right" candidates.

I think Bernie scared the crap out of them and they don't want a repeat of that. Heaven forbid we get a candidate actually for the people!

  • This is something that is truly baffling to me. Veterans almost universally not only vote Republican but are fervent supporters of Republican agenda and year after year, without fail, Republicans try to fuck them over specifically. It's so weird to me.

Already with this term... Veterans are beneficiaries of a shit ton of DEI programs. Like a TON. And they are actively voting to get rid of all of them.

  • That's so sad but 16 years is a hell of a run! Lots of memories in there for sure.

  • They are among the stupidest movies ever created without a doubt. And I absolutely adore them 😄

  • King Trump earlobe nibbler Ted Cruz has been whining ever since the infrastructure bill was passed about how these kinds of common sense provisions are “woke"

    Lol

  • I mean for me personally yeah but it definitely seems like people/organizations are finding a way to fact check the crap out of this. The top five biggest contracts on their previous iteration of this have all been removed or heavily revised because they were called out for being inaccurate and they capitulated. I've already seen reports showing the same thing with a lot of the new ones.

It seems like their new strategy is just to not list the biggest savers and just talk about it because the wall of receipts no longer comes close to the value saved they were claiming.

  • With most things like this, I truly, honestly think the man is just too dumb to carry out what he's accused of. Now, stupidity is absolutely not an excuse to get you out of the dumb shit you've done (in fact, it now seems to be a prerequisite for his position along with being incredibly wealthy and comically old), but I don't think he's behind a lot of these elaborate plans he's accused of.

I think at the end of the day, he's just a very old, very rich, incredibly gullible and dumb man who is very easily controlled by those around him.

  • This is literally the back of my car lol

  • Look we're wasting our hard earned tax payer money on crazy fraudulent things like science, education, weather, feeding children, helping the poor, medicine... Dumb things like that. And you're gonna tell me that changing the name of a body of water to include the greatest God damn country in America is a waste? Next thing you know you're gonna stand there and tell me that poor people should be able to afford a hospital visit.

  • I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. There's so many comments on there being like "oooooh they didn't expect her to have that much evidence. Get WRECKED libs." How can anyone see that and genuinely think any evidence of any type of fraud was provided in any way? Like the reporter immediately said afterwards, this all just looks like spending that they don't like and somehow that proves it as fraudulent.

Somebody make it make sense. How are these adults.

  • But Brawndo's got what plants crave...

  • This dude doesn't mention Trump or Republicans once during the entire video. I wouldn't be surprised at all if somehow he blames this on the previous administration. I've already had multiple conversations blaming any adverse effects from Trump's decisions on Biden and the Democrats in a similar fashion.
