  • I have a question.Did he know how to use bar soap?

  • But like, seriously. I've been (mostly jokingly) begging my husband's girlfriend to move in for a decade. Daily life would be SO MUCH easier with 3 adults at home.

  • I often do it to dampen unpleasant noises. Car alarm? Siren? I make my ears go Frrrrrrrrrrrr. It helps a lot.

  • Roughly: 1 liter freshly-picked dandelions flowers. (No stems or green stuff. Pour 1 liter boiling water. Two days in a dark place. Strain. Add 1 lemon and 1 orange, quartered, 250g sugar. Boil for 30 minutes

Wait til it's back to room temperature and add 10ml yeast.

Cover with cloth, wait 1 month (stir every day)

Strain (cheesecloth or sth very fine) Glass bottle. Wait 3 months before driking. Burp the bottle often, otherwise BOOOOOM.

  • Wild flowers. I'm about to make dandelion wine, and, later, poppy jelly.

  • Most definitely Big Fish. Every time I swear I won't cry; every time I end up sobbing. With snot. It just hits too close to home. I even had to trigger-warn my 55-year-old dad, to whose home it hits even closer.

  • I don't shave my armpits anymore. After a year or so, I even started liking my armpit hairs.

  • In the rural are I'm in, my year old neighbor recently spanked her 2 year old grandson in front of me, on the street, because... he was walking into my yard while the adults were chatting. Which was a total non-issue. The kid's mom, her daughter, wasn't there. I'm cordial with the neighbor, but we're not friends, and she had zero reason to think I'd condone it. It was so matter-of-fact. My own 9 year old was aghast. It's awful.

  • I used to proofread boons on Project Gutenberg in 2004 or so. 2006 at the latest. It's internet-old.

Edit As a proofreader with 20+ years of experience, I'll leave the typo.

  • I wouldn't know: never tried it. Not even sure what's in it. Now I'm curious.

  • Hey, I am/was Syrian catholic.

  • Tweezers. Always.

  • Same. This week I rode the new tramway network blind in a coastal city to have adventures with Kid. We bought copper wire and made jewellry with pretty pebbles (harder than I thought.) We played Split Fiction (and like It Takes Two better.) We showed her The Good Place (she loves it, because duh.)Whe have fun.

  • I live in the ruralest part of Ruralia. Kids around here think traffic lights are made-up props found in movies.

  • It's awesome. Real cucumbers are so tasty. Fava beans. Squash. Spinach. Sun-warmed tomatoes. Brussel sprouts. Salads. All the herbs. All the jams, jellies, and juices. And enough apple pie filling for 40 pies. I love my life.

  • I don't buy stuff. I haven't bought clothes in 5+ years (new or thrifted). I pirate epubs, games, shows, and movies. I don't have any monthly subscription--no Deezer, Netflix, AppleSomething, Amazon, nothing. I grow 90% of the veggies I eat, most of the fruit. I trade for meat and bread.I've never used Uber, UberEats, Doordash, AirB&B, or any of their competitors.I'm happy.

  • "somebody who isn't me", in a tongue-in-cheek way.

  • Originaly a hot, dry wind in the Alps. Hence the brand name.
