  • What is a good open platform for the tech business? My corp want to go full Teams, which sucks even more than Slack. At least most tooling has a Slack integration of some sort.

  • Read the article. The CMA found they were not dynamically priced. Just unfairly.

  • Most distros have automated updates, or ask to update on power-off. Debian and all derivatives do. As for major updates, I do those for my tech illiterate family. It's not like they can do that themselves, but they wouldn't be able to upgrade Windows themselves either.

  • Vivaldi is based on Chromium. When Google kills manifest v2 in a few months, Vivaldi will be forced to follow. They can't maintain a full fork. So, no more uBlock in Vivaldi.

  • No, Linux is also great for tech illiterate people who just need a browser and e-mail. It's only hard for people who think they know computers but really only know some Windows

  • Have you tried watching the entire video? The wall is just for shits and giggles. The parts where the Tesla runs over a mannequin in the fog and rain while the lidar Lexus does not is much more serious.

  • Have you heard of DeArrow? https://dearrow.ajay.app/

It's a browser extension that replaces clickbait thumbnails with good community sourced ones

  • Old artificial hearts used to do that. It works but pulsing is better for your long term health IIRC.

  • But those “struggling users” who may be lacking in social skills, and begin to rely on AI assistants to craft conversations for them, may have difficulty once they arrive on real-life dates, without the use of their phone to help them converse. This could lead to anxiety and further retreat into the comfort of the digital space

That's the point. Match.com is not interested in finding you the perfect match. They only want to drip-feed you enough real-looking stuff to keep you subscribed.

  • But why does it always have to become the dystopian art? Why not the post-materialiatic optimistic Star Trek kind of art?

  • The problem is that they are optimizing for the wrong values. They are looking at retention, but the ideal dating app should have bad retention! You get a couple of matches, you chat, date, exchange real numbers and you're inactive on the app!

  • The Netherlands. I checked a lot of major retailers like CoolBlue, MediaMarkt, Informatique, etc. The only radeons are low budget ones.

  • Except that none of the major retailers in my country sell these.

  • I'm looking for a new gaming laptop. It's impossible to find any with an AMD GPU here.

  • Yes, JIRA is the worst issue tracker, except for all the others.

  • It depends. For fixing bugs, text editing speed does not matter. For explorative and iterative design it can matter. It just needs to be fast enough to not distract you or hold you back

  • Yes, Bruno is great! The only downside is that everytime I start it, I have that damn Disney song stuck in my head 😆

  • And that's a problem. Other countries modernize and improve their political systems. The US clings to archaic institutions like the electoral college.

  • With that list of games, you may like Green Hell.
