  • No idea what Flatpak is, much? Jellyfin is open-source. If your distro isn't providing you a .deb or tarball to your liking, that's not on the Jellyfin project.

  • Seems like someone's take on Nietzsche comes via Nazi bs, not any real understanding.

That, or I missed that he genuinely couldn't take spicy food, but I'm pretty sure fellating the ubermensch concept to his own detriment at every opportunity was not how he lived.

  • The only acceptable place for ketchup is on French-fries or hash-browns, and maybe on a burger if sliced tomato isn't available.

Even then, I hate to think about all the goddamned added sugar!!

  • Their parents are the ones you'll have the hardest time convincing of that truth.

  • Retail absolutely looks at daily sales year vs year, referenced to both Julian Dates and Gregorian Dates. They use the data to set staffing levels and to decide when to have sales between holidays.

  • My step-dad would raise his hand and say "Teacher!" when they were in ear-shot.

Never got why my mom hated it. She's more of an "Excuse Me!! Let me tell you my life story while you refill my water! No ice please!"-lady.

  • I wish to end my own existance as I know it. Some of us are ready to start over at better.

  • I want to hate that you're right, but what I really hate any more is all the surprised butthurt that will surely be coming for your comment before long. Country and Party full of Ostriches at work.

  • He tried to be a headache for Disney. He accomplished, really, nothing of note. The worst he could do to Disney would just fuck over his state.

  • That's what makes his anti-Tate stance exceedingly cute, on so many levels. Not only does he lack the power or will or conviction of his words, but no-one one either side gives two shits what DeSantis has to say on this topic, or any other.

  • Honestly, its a trope and a pretty common issue, as well as something I struggled with when I was young.

If you look at incels, its the reverse: a whole bunch of people convinced they lack something specific which others are singled out for to attract a lover, regardless of personality or character. They convince themselves they have nothing to offer but their "entitlement to sex", to the point they eventually become right about the nothing to offer part.

  • People are too quick to assume they are being singled-out "irrespective of any other factor" though. We're all so convinced no-one could like us for who we really are.

I mean, if I'm being honest, no-one should like me for who I really am, but that hasn't stopped plenty of people. You get the idea.

  • Smart. That shit costs money.

  • Holy crap, this is the exact shape of the wall-mounted desk I've got mine sitting on in the garage. My family thought it was weird, and I've never seen it used for a 3D printer setup elsewhere.

  • Which Series are you claiming flew over my head? The original series was far more serious in tone than TNG, and I re-watch all of TNG and DS9 almost yearly. Have you ever even read any of the books?

Between the two of us, I'm not the one dismissing new experiences, new takes, and previous lore out-of-hand.

  • secede*, but yes

  • The worst thing "NuTrek" did was give us villains (cHaNgElInGs) who were unironically more interesting and relatable than the Federation, right up until their ... ally.

Other than that, Trek has always been more about enjoyment than substance, save for some arcs of Deep Space Nine.

  • You're talking about a people who changed the color of their blood and adopted a Conlang at inception. They also managed to craft a civilization that accomodated/compensated for the extremity of their emotions. You really have a bizarre take on what is or isn't possible for a species, simply because another one did it first. Calling some of the best Trek in decades Nu Trek/non-canon is revisionist non-sense.
