A small static banner at the end is about as unaggressive of an ad as you can get tho. And this is from someone who runs AdBlockers system and network wide.
If you consider that aggressive then I'm afraid what happens if a tv ad shows itself to your somewhere in the wild. I imagine you immediately punch through the screen in a crazed frenzy lest the animated ad make your heart stop from the sensory overload.
Ah, but I control if the client application is installed or not. And technically Netflix did allow downloading content for offline viewing - as long as you had an account (don't know if they still do).
Now both the content and the application are on your hardware. Ergo by your logic, that would be self hosting.
If it's just about installing a program and bring able to uninstall it, that would mean that if Netflix made a program you could install, you're now self hosting Netflix.
and when I get tired of her, I will eliminate her, strangle her or turn her face into a bloody mess, just so that I no longer feel this disgusting attraction to beauty.
That's what it was! I remember there was a reason Framework was on my no buy list. It was mostly because they double downed on it. And that they personally run it is an additional reason now that it's come out it's slop coded too.
That or if you're running an immutable distro like Bazzite and there's an app image available because it's easier than setting up OS-tree layering etc.
Or you just want an easy way to update app images lol
Just updating here for others - it does seem they have sponsorblock as well! And not only that but they also have audio normalization which is great for podcasts as well
It's what Bazaar uses on Bazzite.
