  • It was 1 day tho?...

And bulk foods are significantly cheaper than non-bulk. So ate preserved foods / long lasting over fresh. I'd get bulk beans, canned spinach, canned mandarins, spam, bulk noodles, sack of potatoes, etc, so the argument doesn't make sense there either. If I did get something fresh, usually it was fresh meat on sale that I could immediately cook or freeze if I could afford to buy extra for later.

  • I mean, I've been very poor. Not buying is the easy part when you're poor - buying stuff is the hard part, so not sure what your point is on this one.

  • The rules to remember when this is happening but before it gets that bad:

    1. remember your own advice
    2. have you tried turning it off and on again?
    3. have you explained the issue to the ducky?
    4. have you eaten?

Rule 1 is the hardest tho

  • Scrap probably has some value.

Alternatively, make money off a YouTube video of blowing it up

  • Don't know much about this, but some experts have this to say on Pitbulls: https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/pets/are-pit-bulls-dangerous-experts-set-the-record-straight-on-these-lovable-dogs/ar-AA1nG7F5

Out of curiosity, I tried looking up info on the attack/fatality rate of pitbulls outside of the USA (assuming Pitbulls are dangerous because the culture of the USA views them as such and this they are raised to be) but couldn't find much.

The only one I found quickly was that they gave a high incidence of attacks in Japan as well, but the owners tend to be Yakuza or other gang members, so yeaaahhh...

  • I mean, seems pretty pseudoanonymous to me, unless Musk had another kid he named apj2k36 or something.

  • So was the one I replied to

  • Your Spotify Wrapped becomes Baby Shark

Or you can just play your music. Babies and kids still like regular music. That's what existed before the hyper commercialized crap came into existence. Kids just listened to what their parents listened too, and as they grew older would start seeking out new stuff.

guitar or mountain bike or whatever gets ebayed to make room for a nursery,

Are you confusing a guitar with a whole band? They don't take up a whole room last I checked. You can just, you know, move the guitar.

And I don't know why you're storing your mountain bike inside in a room but if you can't find somewhere else to place a muddy bike than indoors I'm a bedroom, then yeah, I think it's safe to say you can't afford a kid at the moment.

    travel plans become fiction

You can still travel with a baby. Should you? Well, not on planes. But after a year, you can leave them with a relative / trusted person.

Someone who has issues these badly with kids like you tho shouldn't have kids, so we do agree on that however.

  • I don't think it is. I've lived there, and I get it. And if you're not paying taxes to the US government, you're technically doing more against them than probably 90% of Americans are.

  • Oh yeah I already pulled a lever, but I pulled one many years ago by choosing to move to another country. And getting rid of my American citizenship (they charge taxes even if you don't live there anymore).

This lever is now for Americans to pull.

That said, systemic assassination has been proven to be very effective at changing things in the past. Sometimes for the worst, sometimes for the better. That's the gamble.

The issue is that such a tactic is really hard to pull off, because it needs to be focused more on those already in power rather than those who are power adjacent. Power adjacent people are best removed once power has been transferred.

Of course, this isn't the only lever for people like you to pull. You can choose a peaceful option, like not paying taxes anymore, therefore not funding a fascist regime. Of course, regardless of your choice, the state will use some form of violence against you.

So no matter what, you're choices are to risk your comfort, or to be complacent. Even something like leaving is sacrificing comfort. So, what will you choose, FlyingSquid? Or had you already chosen long ago, like I did?

  • I hate to admit it but damnit, they're kinda right. At the core this really is a trolley problem. The whole point of the trolley problem is that it's a moral dilemma.

It's just feeling harder on y'all now, because now it's more real. Sure right now it's easier to not pull the lever, but if Trump and other oligarchs end up doing much worse things, would you regret not having pulled it?

The trolley problem was really always about revealing your values, and specifically if your morality chose the possible wellbeing of many over the few - even in tough situations. Because in real life, the choices aren't usually "1 vs 3" random people, but something like "1 terrible, 1 innocent, and 8 bad people" vs "society at large".

  • Forgot that runs on Fairphone.

Yeah, Calyx is the better option for it

  • You can install /e/ on the Fairphone

  • Those exist.

There's even bacteria that can live in stomach acid and cause terrible issues. Like helicopter

Edit: I'm keeping that typo lmao

  • Arizona iced tea finally gonna cost a dollar

  • I think he hired someone who found an exploit that then allowed a brute force technique at it actually got unlocked . The person hired got a percentage of the money.

  • With his monkey paw luck, he'd find it just as Bitcoin crashes and loses nearly all value somehow

  • You could be a Scottie Pippen but most people still say "who?" compared to Michael Jordan.

But yeah, the data I posted showed it basically only gained 8 points going from Vice President to President because he already had a decent approval before the assassination.

There's other historical examples to compare by, though none in the modern era, but Andrew Johnson didn't get re-election and was even impeached.

Chester Arthur also didn't win reelection. Although James Garfield didn't exactly serve long 😅 but he was also really popular when he was elected.
