A whole lot of text not talking about the fact that what we call "AI" today is bullshit and useless and takes away the joy from life and its good parts, leaving us with the bullshit, when we were promised that automation would do the bullshit for us.
I wasn't not allowed sugar but in moderation. What was heavily restricted was TV. Anytime I wanted to watch something I had to ask and tell my parents how long it was going to take so I had to carefully choose. I presume this was to prevent me from mindless consumption and being glued to screens.
It just made the TV more interesting, so when our parents were out, my sister and I would watch whatever, just to be watching TV and feel like the other kids. My dad tried several times to implement ways to make the device inaccessible to us but (I'm pretty sure) I inherited my stupid brain from him so he probably got annoyed at having to deal with those implementations every time (not that he watched more TV than he allowed us but he regularly taped [on actual VHS video tape] educational content for work).
Also, unfortunately, my ability to choose for myself what to do came at about the same time as all sorts of screens becoming central to our lifestyles and all my parents' efforts was for naught.
The robot needs a way to determine which jobs need to be done and how to do them efficiently so that I don't have to bother with all that bullshit and can instead do art (/writing/math) all day and night. That's what we're talking about, that's what people want out of automation. Whether that's possible or not isn't part of this conversation.
I have to load and unload those and put away the contents. I also don't have the space for either whereas a robot body with an AI in it could (in this hypothetical) just sit in some corner, folded up, while it's not doing anything. Not to mention all the other chores it could do.
Not the same thing, true, but other organisations have been asked to rename and rebrand, no? I just sometimes wonder why that particular acronym is never questioned even in passing.
TinyMediaManager renames all my files (anime or otherwise) so that any service can work with them. There's very rarely anything that isn't recognised properly.
Yeah, either the kid can survive this (if given the care that is usually provided after birth) or it's still a part of the mother's body and should've been snapped as such.
If the turd is floating through the air instead of sitting on the carpet, they may have larger issues.
