The same people that keep ripping off the fire safety instructions in the lift in our building and who keep violently jumping on the steps of metro escalators until they break and who keep kicking street lamps until they turn off and who keep cutting the seats on trains.
If you're asking whether someone at tiktok HQ saw your success and was green with envy and said "nope, we're not showing that person's videos to people anymore" and flipped a switch to hide your videos, then no.
Not according to OP's definition posted in another reply. We're still safely quirky and not normies and can continue ostentatiously playing with our shoelaces.
When I learnt about the concept I was immediately in. Even just the option to remind me of people's names would be life-changing, not to mention all the other information and reminders and whatnot not only at my fingertips but right into my eyeballs.
And then Google's glasses came out and were a data privacy nightmare and that day I think I lost another bit of my childhood innocence.
I had an issue with my (old but trusty) scanner and I remembered encountering something very similar before but didn't remember what I did about it. So I looked for the solution which I knew must exist since I'd found it before. Was pleasantly surprised and hit by nostalgia to find a link to a forum that I used to spend my time on in the early 2000s that seemed to describe exactly my issue. Then I realised the post was by me, helping someone else with that exact problem, in 2004. Day ruined.
No I can't tell you what that issue was that was the same in 2004 and 2025, I don't remember, I'm old.
The Haunter of the Dark by HP Lovecraft made me scared of windows at night for at least a couple of years. Didn't help that, when I first read it, my room had a huge window and we lived in a very rural area at the edge of a tiny village so there were literally zero (0) lights outside at night. I still occasionally get a bit nervous when I'm next to a window at night and I can't see outside.
