  • Even without the current rash of lettuce etc. Mexicans can get a form of "Montezuma's revenge" (Alamo revenge?) from eating in America, because their guts aren't used to the local bacteria. This can happen any time you travel internationally - especially if you eat any kind of street food.

  • They could be trying to get rid of worms or some other parasites, since that's the only prescribed use of ivermectin and mebendezol in humans. But it's given in careful doses, not DIY from a bottle from a "wellness company". So who knows what they're trying to do.

  • I dunno, maybe it's a clarification, maybe making it a city law enables the New York DA to prosecute violators rather than people having to file lawsuits -- anybody's guess, IANAL.

  • Since I have a small node.js-based site and host a couple static sites for friends, I ran their cost estimator. "Without subscription" (whatever that means) the annual cost was about $60. This is slightly higher than my current 4-year deal with Hostinger. With subscription it was $115. I'll stick with what I have.

  • The rule is actually against images that falsify the appearance of the property, but it does specify "using AI and other digital tools" - which creates a loophole for retouching photos the old fashioned way in a darkroom. I don't know why they have to mention the alteration method at all, it should just prohibit deceptive images.
