  • That person was Mike Muuss, who tragically died in a car crash in 2000, only 42 years old.

  • I'm American, I think billionaires are always fucking everybody, and I think the human race has better odds of surviving another 100 years than the USA as an entity. But I don't feel like debating whatever train of thought you're on.

  • Actually I give a lot more for humanity's chances than this organization we call the United States of America remaining as a unit for another 100 years.

  • The USA still being a thing in 100 years is taking a lot for granted.

  • Oop, sorry - my bad.

  • Gonad the Bavarian!

  • Not anymore but I used to watch the Wizard of Oz and It's a Wonderful Life around Xmas. Never got into the Diehard thing.

edit: actually yes, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation!

  • trivia: the cottonmouth is so-called because of the startlingly white interior of its mouth, which it opens wide as a warning to leave it alone.

  • Amazing how an entire age group doesn't think and act the same tho - it's almost like they're made up of individuals. Who would have guessed?

  • People platform-independently use social media echo chambers to reinforce their own biases and suppress contrary thinking. I think it's an attempt to find comfort zones and avoid self-questioning, which is inherently uncomfortable and involves effort.

  • I was trying to keep it light. This is a thread about reusing plotlines. I mean if you see a black guy and a white guy walking down the street there's really no need to start a rant about the history of slavery. I'm out.

  • I don't think anybody was trying to make excuses for racism or anything else, the discussion was about reusing plots and this other person correctly pointed out that writers commonly do it. I mean I understand everybody has their hot issues they bring up at every opportunity - one of mine is the Epstein files, but you don't see me irrelevantly mentioning the Epstein files.

  • Swords would be a great addition too!

  • Not me, I put in solar panels 5 years ago.

  • Commodore fan here, but srsly, the flip design has so much more failable mechanics than a simple rectangular slab. Will anybody buy it except for the nostalgia? I expect that will soon wear off when they realize how much they miss a bigger screen.

  • Definitely Lupus

  • Don't you worry about burning venture capital, let me worry about blank!

  • 100 years from now haunted house stories will be about boxes with big garages in front.

  • By then they technically will support wind energy because they'll have bought a big share of it. That's what this is always about - support what you own, fight what you don't own. If the other thing wins, buy the other thing.
