  • Zulip integrates with Jitsi, Zoom, and Bigbluebutton for voice and video chat. Looks like a sensible solution.

  • Not bad is a good description. It’s not fun to use compared to other chat software.

  • Call them cretins all you want, Discord in a great piece of software and very powerful. The usability is better than most others.

  • Yes, enshittification of Discord has started a while ago, and it’s becoming worse.

  • Have you tried the multitool made by Victorinox?

  • There are alternative App Stores in Europe for iOS. So far they haven’t been very successful, because of Apple‘s interference. They do exist and are growing.

  • Games designed specifically for VR are pretty cool. Conversions less so.

    The social experience suffers immensely when the audience wears bulky headsets. Can’t kiss your sweetheart for example.

  • Maybe the license makes it easier for the developers to be hired for contract jobs, that build upon it.

  • Why? BSD has an equivalent to coreutils with BSD license.

  • FreeBSD and the other BSDs are doing pretty well with permissive licensing. They have done a lot of important work that also ended up in Linux.

    What sometimes happens is their code is forked, and then published under GPL. Meaning the original project isn’t given back to.
