  • I get they might still date, but at some point a relationship becomes physical. Having a barrier to that can very negatively impact the relationship. There are certain people who are fine with low/no sex, but I don't believe that's the norm.

I can understand this reaction, but as you said this is not the best approach for mental health. I don't see it as a failing, I see it as a very reactionary move that wasn't fully thought out.

I agree on your last point for sure, the situation is fucked and I can't blame anyone for being scared or angry about it.

  • Never once said it was their job to sleep with men. I'm saying this will cause more sexism and isolation. What does this accomplish? Think of a woman wanting a connection, going on a date, and telling him she won't sleep with him. That's not a relationship most would be interested in. This will result in her isolating herself.

Thinking that an entire group of women refusing to be in relationships because of what some men did is just hurting them and snubbing people who are allies. I am all for women's rights, I even got a vasectomy so my partner feels more comfortable and worries less. But if I were dating and ran into people like this it would put a bad taste in my mouth. I just don't see the point.

  • This is what it feels like. I would get not engaging with Republicans, but just not in general seems like a way to isolate you and hurt your cause.

  • Yes, and person treating people this way will eventually result in the opposite of what that person wants. Actions have consequences.

  • Wait so the idea is do not sleep with any men? Even men who support your views and rights? This just seems like it would radicalize more incels or generate more sexism. Like the average person who did everything they could is going to go on a date and be told "I'm not have sex until the government is fixed" which would make me say "ok, well, hit me up in 4 years."

  • The trolly problem only works because it's headed towards a large group and you have a choice to make of allowing a thing to happen that you had no part causing in the first place. That is not the case in this situation.

Also never called you an American or said anything about you voting. I was talking about the opinion of Trump. So don't know where that came from, seems a bit defensive.

  • Just re read the concept to make sure. I think I do.

  • What lead you to see it that way? I read is as dems vs reps because those are the two parties we have and that meme has been showed with that context many tmes.

  • The people who have enough privilege to ignore the news are the ones who can do the most to fix things.

You're saying I can do the most though, is the most I can do just know what's going on? Curious how that helps anything.

  • That establishment Democrat on the right looks surprisingly happy

That's saying the right path was chosen by the dems, where the other would be the republicans. You may have meant to send a different message about aligning with the right, but that's not how it comes across. For what it's worth, I very much agree with you on that point.

  • The trolly problem has a clear moral good choice and bad choice. Saying the dem picked the choice with more deaths clearly indicates you think Trump is the track with less death, i.e. the good guy. Man, logic is never a strong suite for people like you huh?

  • What can I do? Genuine question. I vote every election, I even donate every month. Reading the news is going to cause stress and anxiety over things I have 0 control over. Why expose myself to that?

  • I think that's their point. Reading it doesn't help, it'll just stress you out and cause worry. For most people there's nothing we can do, so ignoring it might be the healthiest option.

  • Yeah the guy who promised things would get ugly, would be a dictator, and wants to "make people pay", he's the good guy lol.

  • Literally? Washington said it? You show Biden saying it, not every president. Seems like a bold claim.

  • Pro China, pro Soviet but claim to care about lives. Big lol

  • And how are you risking your life or freedom?

  • Me and my wife were waiting on how this election went before having kids. Got a call with the vasectomy office tomorrow.

  • So if I don't do every single thing there's no point at all? If I order meal prep, I'm not making my meals so might as well not go for a jog?

With that mindset I hope you never do a single unhealthy thing because if so, it makes me wonder why you're even taking the time to make your meals. I hope your doing cardio every day, if not, why even bother with meal prep if your heart is shit. I hope your monitoring your micros and macros, if not, you're just wasting time making meals... This all or nothing mindset that you're pushing is why people don't even bother. You just told me, if I'm not making meals then why even go to the gym. You're telling people there's no point in working out unless they do all this extra stuff that people don't have time for. Why? Why discourage healthy behavior?

Also, this just sounds privileged as fuck. I'm glad you have a life where you don't have to work that much or have that many responsibilities outside work, but all of us aren't lucky enough to have the time to make every meal from scratch. Sometimes I don't have a free moment to myself all day. And other days I don't have the time to do it. And plenty of people don't have the money to buy all fresh ingredients that spoil quickly if not used. Jesus dude, out of touch much.
