  • Thanks for posting that. Honestly I would almost guess the article was compiled by AI, as it seems to assume you know information it has not previously mentioned.

    If you notice it mentions the symbol multiple times but never shows it. (Not a symbol it can type) Where as a human would have written/drawn/ known it has to be shown or none of the references make sense.

    Or I'm an idiot and they just are saying the term "healthy" is the symbol they are going to use?

  • I don't want more sin taxes. Sin taxes are anti choice. Subsidizing products that's meet the healthy label I could agree with though

    Edit: aka subsidizing the crops that are used to produce and possibly writing laws to ban the taxation on foods labeled healthy. Thus making such food in states like I live cost 10% less just by banning the state taxes on them before even getting to the subsidization on the crops. Shit, forcing us to move off corn to things like sugar cane would be great. Dense, the crop cycles are better, water usage is less and overall would be easier to manage. As in if we are going to kill ourselves with gas powered cars using 10% ethanol from corn... Why not use 10% from sugarcane which is easier to acquire and better for the population long term

  • Probably wise, thankfully I don't have to many smart devices... Even my microwave/air fryer combo started shooting sparks out of another outlet on the breaker. Unplugged it and decided to use it as a cat treat holder for now. He can't open that... Cabinets though..

  • Really not sure how much tech they have in them. I'm more familiar with PoE and switches. The Ethernet to 110 to Ethernet I guess is just pulses being sent to transmit the data over power lines within the residence, but yeah I agree it is behind the router. That doesn't say someone couldnt hack say a smart fridge and pick data off the same power and then transmit that data back through a backdoor. But then again that fridge would be behind the router as well. Idk, havent spent much time looking at any of it. It would have to mimic the sync signal used by the receiver though, not sure what security protocols are there.

  • Gas prices don't matter to people as much as they say, or they would have been pissed when he rolled back the mpg requirements last time. Gas prices are $2.50 a gallon! Why yes, but you would have got more than twice as far if you didn't buy a car getting 20mpg, the requirements were set to 45mpg. But yikes, that would have cut fuel use and helped the environmental impacts... Can't have that. Better to pay more than double to stick it to all our offspring and humanity

  • Out of curiosity, what would happen with older models. Also other devices, like I don't have a TPlink router but I do have a TPlink Ethernet to power to Ethernet I bought when I lived in an appartment and didn't want to drill holes in the walls. (Wifi ran from center of house, but outed it to a 110 in the wall and hardwired to a PC into a RAP for work in bedroom at the time.

The oil companies know it, the coal companies know it, the car companies know it, the overseas shipping companies know it, the agricultural companies know it, the billionaires know it, and they use their money to contort media outlets and information pushed to the population for manipulation. If one president pushes that clock forward, and another tries to slow it, are they so easily comparable? When people claim they care about kids, what they really should be meaning is the future of humanity... Or else they are really taking away the liberties of those children to be able to grow up and live a life of the same quality as the generations before them.

    Now categorize those presidents again as whom has attempted to use the information they had in the capacity they had for changes to benefit future generations.

  • I would assume all donations would have to be reported to the IRS as well. You can't get a tax break on donations if they aren't filed. So they should know how much every citizen is donating unless they are being taxed and not reporting that, which is fine by me, but bad business on their end.

  • I just think people should go to doctors, discuss what they think is best for their life, and do what they think is best for themselves. Doctors have licenses and review boards, those boards will see what practices are occuring and make research driven decisions on whether someone is practicing medicine in a way that is improper and revoke their license. Politicians aren't licensed medical doctors, and shouldn't have any say in what you and your doctor decides is the best course for you.

    If someone wants to have an arm sewn onto their forehead, and a doctor discussed it with them and found somehow that was possibly the healthiest option for them, then who the fuck am I to say anything about it.

  • The number of people addicted to caffeine I have met is higher than any other drug. People openly talk about caffeine headaches around me and I'm always left wondering why they don't just stop consuming so much of it.

    Then again I also don't understand the taking Advil/Aleve/Motrin/Aspirin/Tylenol and such all the time. I can understand taking them for irregular occurrences or even regular ones like cramps, but if a doctor isn't telling you to take multiple pills daily, there is probably something else going on.
