  • I once cut a small artery above my left elbow right before I left work (We were young and just fucking around) Cant remember my exact age, probably late 16 early 17. I took my undershirt off and tied it around my arm to try to slow the bleeding while I drove home. The blood goes threw the shirt, and is all over the inside car door, seatbelt and created a puddle on my pants in the creases because they were those Dickies work pants that are water resistant. When I got out of the car I heard the blood splat on the ground so I figured it was to much. Went inside tied yarn tightly above it and wrapped an old shirt again around it to replace that one as I didn't have any superglue. I spent the hours of 330am-630am crawling in circles around the house with 2 bottles of resolve, paper towels and wet rags in a bucket trying to clean blood drops off the carpets and floors from when I walked in. The entire time dropping more blood in a near endless cleanup chain with only one thought on my mind. My mother is going to fucking kill me for getting blood on her carpets. At 630 (they open at 7), dizzy as all get out from lack of sleep and blood loss I got back in my car to drive to the clinic just hoping no one pulled me over or I passed out driving. I got there with a blood soaked rag wrapped around my arm and the lady handed me a 2 page clipboard to fill out and I remember staring at her with an expression that clearly said, can't I fill this out while he stitches my arm? Of course not, so 5 minutes later I hand her a clip board mostly free of blood and paperwork that says I have no insurance.

    The clinic doctor was great. Told him I had no insurance and couldn't afford anesthetic and asked if he could just do it without. He cleaned it a bit, poked me with a needle of some kind and put in 7 or so stitches. Then marked it down as a consult or something, so I wasn't charged with any of the items he needed/used. (Like $40 for the visit)

    I'll always remember that guy. Moral/point of the story though... If you are less afraid of bleeding to death than you are to ask your parents for help, your parents might be abusive as opposed to strict.

  • There isn't much opposition in Tennessee, but Memphis and Nashville still exist. So you have Tennessee judges that have blocked their bills to ban drag shows, hemp products, ID's for porn, and laws against transporting women in need of health services. They don't always win long term but they don't just let everything go through without a peep. I'm sure there are others I don't remember, but it is always nice to see when they do block something.

    How can immigrantion matters be considered a civil matter if you criminalized someone's immigration status?

    Example in Tennessee: "The legislation, criminalizing the act of being in Tennessee without legal immigration status, would come with both jail time and an eviction notice from the state. Judges would be required to issue 72-hour warnings to leave Tennessee to anyone charged or convicted of the crime.

    The first offense would be a misdemeanor, but would rise to a felony if someone is charged a second or subsequent time."

    That means Tennessees courts should immediately shoot that down as unconstitutional because it is a civil matter according to the federal government.

  • No I haven't said anything about my sentiment about Waltz. He has said we can't allow what is/has happened to the people in Gaza to happen, and supported immediate ceasefire though. Which go completely against why you say you dislike him.

    ..also "lying to us" really? The sentence made no sense. Even Fox pointed out he misspoke and he said Israel instead of Iran. And made fun of him for it. There was more wrong about the sentence than just that.. it's 2 sentences jammed together incorrectly like he looked down and read the next like or something.

  • So your quoting something that was clearly misspoken as why you dislike him so greatly. The sentence makes no sense as many pointed out on every news station at the time saying he misspoke.

    If it wasn't two sentences garbled together like everyone assumed, who exactly are Israel proxies that he wants to expand? It very clearly was meant to be something along the line of Iran and it's proxies (referring to the actual subject of the conversation, Hezbollah) are expanding. Hezbollah "expanding" at the time was considered a big threat because the U.S. was dumping shit tons of cash to stop the attacks on ships instead of telling Israel we would sanction them and cut all further support unless they withdrew from Gaza and called an immediate permanent ceasefire. (Which is why Hezbollah was shooting at ships).

    Biden should have made an executive order to do so and demanded the sanctions be placed. (which Congress would have said no too, but if the president bluffed, we don't know if Israel would have stopped or been certain they could wait for Congress to say no).

  • I was lucky that we just had friends that loved making them. So we wouldn't have books or such, and we just made our player cards on paper with knowledge of what can grow and when. Then the world's would grow crazy if we wanted them to, or not. Hell we had one game we played specifically when we were drunk. We would close the bar down, pick up a 12 pack a piece and cigarettes. Then we would sit out on the porch from 2am and play till sunrise every weekend, sometimes both Friday and Saturday night. In that game we'd note our cards on our phones so we'd remember and the DM would have us send them to him at the beginning and end of the night so he could reference/ make sure they weren't all fucked up before the next play session. It gave us crazy things to talk about at the bar; what we wish we did differently, what we would want do aim to do, where we might want to go, and that just all fed content to the DM and they would draw up ways to integrate possibilities for the next week or so. Even had a couple side characters so if someone else happened to be in town or wanted to join us we could auto scale the character by doing a quick percentage off of some of main characters current stats. 1 or 2 people spend 5 mins to bring the person up to speed with what their character story is and where/what is going on or maybe overall goals while another one of us just writes down their updated stats for them and sends it to them.

    So we'd spend nothing on the game itself. We had a blast

  • Okay so maybe I've grown to used to the smell of garlic but is it a common problem that people are worried about their hands smelling like garlic/onions? Maybe it's because I wash dishes as I cook, so whatever I chopped/prepared them on I would have washed in the sink while it started to heat up in the pan, but I guess I need to sniff my fingers more after doing so.

  • So your plan is to give up, or try to change the Democrat party to move further left? A new party couldn't place a member on the Presidential ballot by 2028. They have to hold positions in multiple states of lower positions to do so, and that would split the possible centrists from the leftists and guarantee another Republican win.

    Hating on individual Democrat members who drive the party Congress/Senate to the right makes sense. Hating on the entire party just helps lose support for their party and thereby support the "true" villains as you labeled them.

A bill like this was impossible to pass under Biden even if you could get the Democrats who notoriously don't line up together to get on the same page. It has to pass both sides of the legislature, and they didn't have a majority in both sides like Republicans do now.
