  • We get what you meant (w2), but in case it wasn't a typo, the w4 is what you submit when you start a job instructing the employer on how to modify what is taken out of your paychecks. They try to make them friendly for people by saying choose a number on certain lines pertaining to how many dependents you have because they expect you will get a larger return at the end of the year, so if you take more out up front you will still break even or still get some of your money back at the end of the year. If you know what you have/will have you can actually do all the math yourself up front and modify the amount taken out so the government isn't holding any of your money hostage throughout the year and you get it back in your paycheck, and end up having it at $0 owed at the end.

    For most people they don't think it's worth it, but anyone who gets a $1800 or $3500 dollar tax return or such at the end of the year, is not doing their taxes very smart. As that's 3500 you could have invested or used for other things throughout the year.

  • It's also a "milestone" in everyones lives that most people have in common. Not as many people have gone to college and colleges can vary more. So I think they believe it to be relatable. Personally I wish movies were more focused on 25-30 age group, because I feel uncomfortable with how many movies and shows focus around romance/ people getting together or just outright hooking up, and as much as I want to engage in a movie and celebrate character/plot growth cheering on someone kissing a minor isn't for me.

    Like I understand people say "it's a fantasy world" but Khaleesi was 13 in the first Games of Thrones book. Celebrating her growing a meaningful connection to a man who abducted and raped her is just... Yeah

  • Yeah it started for me around 18 or so. I've put it off for 18 years now. I'm sure it was a mixture of drinking, dehydration, excessive running, stress and poor diet. For a little while I couldn't figure out if it was hemmroids from stress/riding a motorcycle and other strains but when I read more into the damages that can be done from long distance running all the time, I think that and diet caused most of it. Excessive alcohol use following that up didn't help much. I've learned that bad choices are my Pokemon, I apparently just have to catch them all before I learn anything

But I've seen hundreds of computers not work right away and have to reinstall drivers, toggle things on and off swap the cords, then that cord work on another machine right next to it while the other cord worked in its place. Displayport should be great, but I've also seen ~20 of them just split and die at the end as well. Not the most durable, but that's probably manufacturing issues.

    That said I currently have to work on a Mac mini at some times, and that uses usb-c to c.... And I have to disconnect the cable and reconnect it after near every reboot to get the monitor to recognize.

    If people don't realize what these people did, they will always continue to walk free.
