  • I don't even try to argue with these people. Thankfully, I have all the important people in my life trained up on proper cybersecurity practices and how to be good end users. It makes dealing with any tech issues for them so much easier lol. I only got yelled at once by a relative and I told him he needed to fix his tone before I'd fix his computer. He hasn't given me any issues since lol

  • My one cat is soooo loud. Her face thing is to come up to me while I'm on work calls and meow right into the microphone.

  • I work in IT and talk on the phone all day and like 70% of end users just hang up at the end of calls. No goodbye or anything. It's so fucking rude

  • A trailer in the trailer park across the street from my house got struck by lightning and burned down a while back.

  • Lmao nah. Feds are in on it

  • Oh nice. Can you still install banking/credit card apps with Graphene? I've heard it can be a pain in the ass to get around

  • Right? I hate how there's like no options for phone OS

  • Does anyone have a good in depth guide on how to de-google? My ultimate goal is to not use Google at all and use Graphene OS on my Pixel

  • I know a dude who went riding while drunk and almost died. He was being a dumbass and spooked his own horse and it threw him.

  • Bro 9 hour workdays sound like hell. And the fact they want to know if you're taking a shit is disgusting. I'm so sorry you have a job like that. I hope you're able to get out of there.

  • I'm one of those people who got diagnosed with lupus. My life is just a House meme now.

I also deal with DNS that totally can't be DNS like 3x/week

  • Yo I totally get that time entry shit. I get automatic hate mail from my boss if I don't hit 6 hrs of billable time. There's a lot of unbillable duties I do in my position, so a lot of days I don't hit my 6 and it's annoying as fuck.

My boss is also a passive aggressive pos that I could rant about all day.

  • I'm in the easterm part of the country on top of everything else. In a very poor area. I'm looking at a commute if I can't find a remote position. I currently work fully remote because I am very immunocompromised. I'm terrified of even hybrid positions getting me ill. I caught a cold that's slowly turning into pneumonia and I just can't fight it off. I have the feeling I'm going to end up hospitalized from it.

  • I feel like I could also be on the chopping block if my employer decides that they're done with me. The only thing going for me is that it's a small company and our growth in clientele alone is keeping me employed. If we are down by one person, we are absolutely slammed with work. It's ridiculous.

  • Damn that really sucks. I'm sorry you aren't appreciated for your skills and have to take on the role of teacher instead of doing your actual work.

  • I live outside of a large city and would be commuting into it. Wanting to live kinda rural and work in tech was not a good idea, but I'm in too deep now. -_-

  • In in the same boat as you, right down to the industry. Except I'm in the US and I'm only experienced enough to be a level 2 tech.

I have a friend tracking down a hybrid position lead at his company, but the commute for the in person days would be 1.5 hrs at least one way. He's going to be seeing what the pay is and how many days I'd need to be in the office so I know if it'd be worth it. I don't want to waste my time and the time of his coworkers if the pay and schedule wouldn't be right.

  • My workplace had become super toxic and I'm desperate for another job, but the market is abysmal. I'm hoping for a miracle, because I want out of my current job asap
