  • If you tried to video call your cat I suspect one of two things would happen.

Either it's entirely ignored or the cat would knock the camera/tablet off of the table.

  • Two way pet cams are a thing. You may not be able to text, but you can still stalk and get a bit of long distance affection.

Warning: Do not try this with cats.

  • This actually happened to me last month. I had to touch code from a previous team/project I was on.

I got the call for a collaboration/consult. I forgot everything about it. Jumped in a meeting next day anyway. We pulled up the code. Everything was documented and I had a section with parameters for a "wish" feature that they actually wanted finally. I pointed it out and told them the needful to finish the feature.

Thank you past me. I'll have to buy you a drink.

    Then I had a nice 5pm Scotch.

  • He was shocking chill and backed off immediately when she pushed back. That's surprising.

  • I managed to get real lucky getting my cloud architect job without a bachelors.

The trade off was loads of work experience in the exact field a job needed and a recommendation from someone on the project.

I still broke six figures before that job offer without the job recommendation. That was from job hopping for 3 years.

Gotta keep your resume up to date and literally keep applying. Got a new job? Update resume with new gig and keep applying.

Now I'm happy where I'm at. Fantastic work culture and comfortable salary. Can I make more? Maybe but my work life balance is good and I can pay my bills/save money.

  • I have this but also visual voicemail. So I still never listen to voices unless the transcript bugged out

  • "Computers can make up things that look real. Like superhero movies and kid movies (disney/Pixar). This AI crap just made it cheaper and easier so there's lots of fake stuff everywhere"

  • My elderly parents showing me clearly AI videos of a $30 robot puppy...

I couldn't convince them it was AI. I tried to explain CGI with shit like Pixar and Disney movies but it didn't work. NICOO puppy

    That shit should be illegal.

  • The top two things people spend thier money on after expenses are porn and pets. In that order. So...

  • Optimization?What's that?

  • Scrivener is pretty damn good if you're into writing.

For novels, screenwriting or things like DnD it's got a corkboard with scene cards you can drag and drop around to make the story flow better.

It also has character management with little cheat sheets for notes. You can track character persona/relationships nicely.

  • Off topic but I'd recommend printing this stand on its side vs the back.

In its current orientation the stress would be dispersed directly against the layers and it'll be more prone to break.

If you print it in the side it'll spread the stress across multiple layers. The annoying bit would be the need for supports on that split.

For the lines you could try a fuzzy texture.

  • I could see a use case for this...

You work in a office and keep this in your shirt pocket set to voice activation.

Good to capture any conversations to CYA in funky situations. Basically wearing a wire.

  • The fact that you found this is wild

  • Yeah. I have random old laptops with fresh Linux on them for no reason. Good to have out to a friend/family or use as a air-gapped sandbox.

  • I had to look up parvo...

Jeez that's awful. There is no treatment. Just support and hope they pull through.

Feline panleukopenia (also called feline distemper) is a highly contagious, potentially fatal disease of cats caused by the feline panleukopenia virus (FPV, also called feline parvovirus). Kittens are most severely affected.

  • Yeah I gave up on radio customization when I got a car that didn't have a dual bin and didn't keep up. Looking at newer cars and barely anything can be swapped/upgraded it seems.
