  • Its always DNS.

    There's a XKCD for that.

  • I tried to make a snowman on the first storm of the season and it was too fluffy to form. I was too tired to try again.

  • Last snow left of the season. This is what's left after a 7ft tall snow mound on my front lawn melted.

  • Now I want to play with a microscope...

  • And yet. Aluminum foil is a very anti cat material

  • This is my #1 concern with this bullshit.

  • This was my first thought.

    A circle filled with hexagons!

  • I like this. No bullshit + CYA.

Only issue is someone stealing work to sell but there are other licenses for that.

  • Yeah what is this some "summer Lemmy" shit? Spring break stuff? Idk man. Most of Lemmy is older and this is grade school humor

  • Even if you go full privacy focused with a locked down phone and a dumb car flock cameras are tracking your plate, scanners are tracking the tire sensors in your wheels and phones need IMEI tower connections so all that is logged.

  • I believe the original intent of the constitution was to review/update it every 20 years but they got lazy.

They knew it wouldn't stand the test of time.

  • I know someone in college that writes very well and has to dumb it down a bit so it doesn't get flagged as AI by some stupid scanner they use.

    So yeah...

  • So depending on the specs it might be fun to get a used Xbox One and turn it into a steam machine. Better it'll be done within 2 years.

  • This is actually pretty neat. Great replacement for doomscrolling.

  • It depends on what I'm doing.

Baking: metric - grams on a food scale help me replicate recipes perfectly.

Cooking meat: standard - 140°F steak, 165 chicken

    3D printing: metric always

Woodworking/household: standard - inches are just the standard for all the things. Wood, curtains, hardware, etc

Mechanical: ??/?? Depends on where it's made! I hate having to switch wrenches or sockets due to the wrong standard.

  • 299 entries... That makes it 300! Congratulations!!
