  • "KNEEL BEFORE NEIL!!"

  • This looks heavenly.

Until I feel a sneeze coming on.

  • Ooh good idea! My cats have had something similar to OPs toy. They loved it at first, then grew tired.

Then I got the mat accessory, which is like a big pocket made out of the spring wire sun shades for cars, and the toy contained inside mimicked a panicked mousie. They loved playing with that. Then grew tired.

A new venue for the coked up 'mouse' toy would probably rekindle their interest for a couple of weeks.

  • The normies at the kennel club dog shows.

  • You act like I don't already sing it daily to my cats.

  • Catfishing!

No, really. It's a Purina/Friskies app. One of my girls couldn't care less, but the other LOVES to watch it and swat my phone. I had to keep adjusting the settings until it fully captured her attention. You can change size, quantity, color, and speed of the fish. I thought a full-on fish fracas would be to her liking, but turns out that just one really large fish is more fun for her.

Edit: I also had to demonstrate swatting the fish to her so she could see that they wiggle and disappear when whacked.

  • Will there be a dedicated clergy to help the majority of souls with their critical thinking skills?

  • I want to add that if kitty refuses to go in the weird litter, my vet advised this: Sit in a room with him (this method works better for boys) and have his regular litter and litter box in there, preferably do the bleach decontamination treatment on it first and use fresh litter. Wait for him to start going....and, scoot the collection cup right into the stream to catch the pee. This worked for me. Kitty was the sort to stand tall, so he kind of made it easy to have enough room to maneuver, and the vet said usually when they start going, they don't stop, even if they are a little weirded out by you putting unfamiliar containers around their backsides.

If you don't think he'll let you get back there with the sample cup, you can try to catch it in something sanitary and plastic with a handle, like a measuring cup that will never ever ever see the kitchen again.

You could also try this with multiple puppy pads instead of a litter box.

I've had cats hold their pee all dang day at the vet even being given fluids and the vet techs periodically applying light pressure to the bladder area. But get them in a quiet room with me and let them figure out they're not going anywhere anytime soon, and eventually they will go!

  • Why kitty, they bring more boxes for thine amusement.

  • Obligatory "how do I go 3 days without pooping?"

  • I thought of another one: Never Cry Wolf

I saw this way back when it was first released, and boy has it stuck with me. That said, my memories of it might have gotten fuzzy in the last, what, 42 years (😳)

A biologist goes to the tundra to investigate why caribou are dying. Wolves have been floated as the culprits. He is very isolated. Life happens. I don't remember it as a generally upbeat movie, but it was a good, well-made movie that made me think quite a lot.

  • Ooh, you might enjoy Scavengers Reign.

    From inverse.com:

a dark sci-fi adventure show about the crew of a cargo ship that crash land on an alien planet with no hope of being rescued

The crew are scattered across a hostile planet, so it does deal with isolation. And I think "melancholy" is a pretty good description for how it made me feel. Plus, it's visually gorgeous and bizarre.

  • I'm a basic diet cokehead. But I tried a Stoney Tangawizi on holiday once and was instantly in love. I find it very frustrating that with the sheer variety of ethnic shops around the DC region*, I couldn't find it locally!

*when I lived there anyway, in the before times

  • Cat

    Jump
  • Kitteh is deep in his cups

  • "Greeneville" is like "Springfield". They're everywhere.

Since it's TN though, this phenomenon would probably be all the Cade's Cove lightning bugs getting recalled to their home planet before ours is slated for demolition.

  • When the opportunity presents itself, you Milk it!

  • So did you choose Motley Crüe, Poison, maybe Cinderella?

What are their care and feeding habits?

  • I feel that a good therapist could help you work through this fear of going outside. You may not find one locally that vibes with you. Televisits are how I meet with mine. Beyond that, do you have a friend that you could travel with? Columbus is pretty progressive, and you could visit other cities with strong queer communities which could help you build confidence that going out into the world is not as dangerous for you as the close-minded people have conditioned you to believe. The more you do it, the easier it becomes, so they say (this may sound unrealistic when you're at the very beginning of your journey to a better life, but you may find it to be true if you keep putting yourself out there as much as you can tolerate).

Other than that, I can say with certainty that there are women out there who are attracted to men like you. Ironically, you might find them in gay bars. I happen to be a woman like this, and apparently through high school dated boys who eventually came out of the closet (though not because of them not exactly fitting the traditional straight male persona, but because they were gentle and kind and witty and smart and a little bit sassy). This was early 90s in a very very religious and conservative area somewhat straight south from you, so I may relate in some way to the hate you've experienced. Those boys may have known all along about their sexuality and were masking, but at least one of them didn't figure it out until after he was married to a woman.

Anyway, I find I am way more comfortable in a gay bar setting, just not so much on ladies' night, lol. And not just in a gay bar but also in the day to day queer spaces where acceptance is pretty much infused throughout the environment. Those places exist, and you would be welcome there.
