  • This question implies death is the worst that could happen to you.

Personally, I don't see it that way. There's a lot more hurtful things than death.

Death is one occurrence, with no pain in the death itself, and "only" secondary pain in those left behind.

There's a lot more hurtful and lasting pain you can inflict, physically and psychologically, and without a definite endpoint.

  • Good

  • On Lemmy? Go for it.

  • No, nothing ever from my parents. School had one session at some point. I can't say I remember anything from it.

  • That's hot

  • A sudden, relatively small ice patch on a curvy mountain road with no road barrier and a car coming towards me. I swirled towards abyss, then a rock wall, then back to the abyss, and the other car somehow passed me too. Thankfully neither me nor the others were hurt.

  • What do all these interesting pictogram keys do?

  • I thought German would be QUARZ. /s

  • How difficult was it to learn and switch?

When I considered I ultimately didn't commit to practice - because it's so different and seemed like not worth the effort.

How do see the impact it has? It is considerably more comfortable or efficient?

  • I think I will bind E to my spacebar.

  • These stories make me think of what a good thing the Schengen in Europe is. Free travel across countries is such a good and significant thing. Prevents these kinds of situations in the first place. I guess not prevent, but significantly reduces.

  • So what you're saying is that ice cream maker is a good cover for being a drug lord? Noted.

  • Or in other words: Use paragraphs.

Line-breaks are ignored. (Unless you use backslash or double spaces at the end - which in this case would still not break off of being a quote).

  • Ship captain on the radio: "Mayday, mayday. We are sinking!"

German coast guard: "What are you sinkin about?"

Jokes aside, honestly, I have not hear much bad English here in Germany. Then again, I guess I don't hear many people speak.

  • Common swear words fall into religious, sexual, and fecal. If you merely want to evade religious, there's plenty to choose from. Shit, ass, fuck, etc.

  • So everything stays the same.

  • I haven't checked. It's a long-term investment anyway.
