  • There are alternative providers.

  • Broadly and selectively, yes, I feel comfortable expressing my feelings. I'm usually more honest than the social norm, and probably more open than is common.

  • Which is why I recommend letting the police deal with him, instead.

Even if they can't or don't resolve the situation, a paper trail of previous issues and concerns will likely help a lot in later proceedings.

  • I would say so, yes.

(I'm not the original commented, but I do use them too.)

They came to be after Nvidia published their gaming streaming as an open source alternative. Nvidia dropped their product. Sunshine and moonlight still actively develop.

Personally, I use them to stream my desktop to TV, for desktop, watching stuff, and sometimes gaming.

  • That's clever

  • May be different depending on regulation/country?

  • The functionally, not the product, yes. Sunshine and moonlight is a more performant alternative to native remote desktop (rdp).

  • They’re not lazy, they’re maliciously compliant.

Often times they're not even compliant.

  • The group policy management has a lot of options. You can control automatic and manual behavior, or do the whole update delivery yourself. Of course, that all comes with effort and investment into administration and management.

  • Visibility and accessibility of windows, without the need to expand a group or neutral icon.

  • A hosted server, email, some Patreon and GitHub Sponsor. That's it.

  • I have no idea how it feels there or what the real or honest user percentage is like. Subjectively occasionally I still see xitter. Maybe my impression of importance and use as a source for press/media is outdated.

Still, it seems to remain very relevant in some areas and circles, like vtubing, Japan, Ukraine, and Russia.

I assume it's the same for other areas. The recent reporting about artist outcry and leaving xitter because of their AI remixing is another indication that is still significantly popular, apparently.

Whether it's 50% bots or not - if we assume the other half to be real and honest users that's still a lot and relevant.

  • Where are they leaving/going to?

  • There different kinds of AI and some run just fine locally or even on mobile. Not everything is a big LLM.

  • Value is a superficial, arbitrary concept. Their value view is different from other people's. Zoom out far enough, and you can argue that nothing has value. Look around, and you can attribute value to many things, countless times.

So, value to whom and in whose eyes? They can't find value to and for others.

Depression is not just an excuse for laziness.

  • A picture on the wall is practically in use 24/7, right? My grandma gifted it to me many years ago. It's hanging in my living room, above my sofa. Kinda artsy, semi abstract, and with structure. Decent size.

Does picture always mean photograph? What's the correct term for an art piece?

  • Maybe when we got an electronic train thing and we built the tracks and delivered the rest of the presents with it. (A bit across the room or however long the tracks reached.)

Now I wonder if that's even a correct memory. I doubt you can put a lot of load or size on those trains lol.
