Agreed in every point. I do use just about the whole acronym personally, cause I do struggle a bit with specificity and timeliness in my goals when I don't.
Especially your last point in the parentheses, a lot of people tell me "you need to be more realistic."
No I don't, you just asked for the wrong thing. You asked for my long term plan when what you wanted to know was "where do you wanna be in 6 months." Long term isn't 6 months to me, I have a 1000 year plan for my nonprofit. But if you wanna know what I've got in store for 6 months from now, then I can tell you that too because I've got steps to follow.
Don't shoot for the moon and hope to end up in the stars. Create a detailed plan to get to get to the moon, and then get to the stars from there
I look at it like this: ActivityPub is to RSS as a GUI is to a CLI.
Meaning, you could already use the tools (RSS or the CLI) that are there to do the task, but someone has created something (protocol, AP or application, GUI) to make that task easier. In the case of RSS and AP, that task is generally getting content in front of the user. With RSS I have to go hunt down RSS feeds and whatnot, but with AP I just interact with stuff and wait for the people I interact with to interact with stuff, and then I get content.
I actually think it might have more to do with the phrasing. I'm very used to "hey how are you doing" or "you okay?" and the likes.
The important part is that I, and I think most Americans, are used to hearing it as a passive question, with the way your feeling being the last part of the statement.
Hearing "alright dude" randomly would leave me absolutely stumped because even if you have a questioning inflection in your voice, that word combination means "you just did/said something that warranted a sarcastic affirmation" to me
In a different universe, most social medias use OCR and image recognition technology to handle this instantly and easily. This meant a huge reduction in bandwidth and storage issues on the great WWW which eventually lead to world peace.
This universe seems to be... Behind where it's supposed to be?
